This event features themed book displays\, borrowing incentives and e-book promotions—inviting all faculty and students to embark on a literary springtime journey. \nThe themed book exhibition showcases award-winning titles from OpenBook and 2024 bestsellers from online bookstores\, covering a wide range of topics and demonstrating the richness of reading experiences. \nBorrowing Rewards:Borrow three books from the display collection and receive a special gift. \nE-Book Promotion:Borrow five e-books from any of the digital platforms\, then fill out a form indicating the most captivating title you’ve read. Once completed\, you’ll be eligible to register at the library counter for a lucky draw. \nBy promoting both physical and digital reading\, the campaign encourages everyone to embrace reading as a moment of calm and reflection in daily life. The library warmly welcomes all faculty and students to explore the featured collections on each campus and experience the creative spark that words can bring. Step into the atrium on 2nd floor of Ying-Chao Memorial Library\, where the aroma of coffee blends with the warmth of nostalgia. In coordination with the library’s special exhibition “Inscribed Legacy: A Generational Journey Through Time with Ming Chuan’s School Memorabilia“\, a limited-time campaign titled “Enjoy Coffee with Exhibition” is now running until April 20. Complete designated tasks to redeem a free Iced Americano or Fresh Brewed Black Tea. \nMeanwhile\, the newly installed TOUCH CAFE smart coffee vending machine has officially launched\, inviting everyone to enjoy the fusion of technology and taste. \nThis nostalgic exhibition showcases items such as the founder’s qipao\, old school uniforms and vintage campus photographs\, reviving 68 years of campus memories. The sound of class bells and typewriters echoes once more\, taking viewers on a time-travel journey through Ming Chuan history. During the event\, anyone who borrows three physical books from the library and uploads a photo of the exhibition’s main visual wall to their Instagram or Facebook Story tagging @mculibrary will receive a beverage redemption code at the service desk. Centered on themes of “culture” and “history”\, the event features a selection of documentaries that transport viewers across borders\, revealing the cultural landscapes and historical heritage of diverse regions—from the majestic natural beauty of the UK to the mysterious ruins of Atlantis\, the ancient cities of Rome\, and the pilgrimage routes of Mecca. This visually and intellectually rich experience offers an inspiring journey for both the eyes and the mind. \nThe “Image Journey” event is divided into three main sections. The first is “Film Appreciation”\, with daily featured documentaries on global culture and history\, shown Monday through Friday from 09:00 to 16:00. The screening schedule includes Monday’s Joanna’s Journey Through Britain\, Tuesday’s Atlantis in the Jungle: The Fall of a Great Empire\, Wednesday’s Joanna’s Great World Cities: Rome\, Thursday’s Tutankhamun: Life\, Death\, and Legacy\, and Friday’s The Pilgrimage to Mecca: Faith and Finance. Attendees can join screenings at Taipei Campus\, Taoyuan Campus\, and Kinmen Library to immerse themselves in diverse cultural narratives. \nThe second part is the “Hall of Fame” lecture\, scheduled for November 20 (Wednesday) from 13:00 to 15:00 in Room H201 at Taipei Campus. Esteemed film critic Mr. Mai Ruoyu\, a renowned media expert and former judge of the Golden Bell and Asia-Pacific Film Festival\, will lead an in-depth analysis of Three Sisters of Gali Village: Digitally Restored Edition\, offering insights into the film’s cultural significance and unveiling the deeper stories conveyed through its imagery. \nThe third segment\, “Film Recommendations”\, begins on November 11\, allowing participants to select a film from the classroom cinema’s public viewing platform and submit a recommendation form. Through book exhibitions\, displays\, inter-university resource sharing\, and electronic resource courses\, the library invites everyone to actively participate. \nFirst\, the Cultural Book Exhibition titled “Taiwan’s Cultural Soft Power: Revealing New International Perspectives“ will take place from October 7 to October 25. This exhibition aims to deepen understanding of Taiwan’s rich cultural heritage and its innovative spirit from an international perspective. The topics cover Taiwan’s cultural exchange\, social inclusiveness\, and cultural diversity. During the event\, anyone borrowing three physical books can receive a limited-edition canvas tote bag. Additionally\, there will be an electronic resource borrowing activity with a prize drawing for those who complete the steps. Faculty and students are welcome to visit the libraries at Taipei Campus\, Taoyuan Campus and the Kinmen Library (online exhibition). \nAdditionally\, the “Crossing National Borders – Exhibition of Foreign Relations Posters from the Historical Collection“ Poster Exhibition will be held at De Ming Memorial Library on Taipei Campus from October 7 to October 25. This exhibition offers a retrospective look at Taiwan’s international relations since the 17th century\, starting from Dutch-Spanish trade\, the influence of foreign powers during the late Qing Dynasty\, and Japan’s rule after the 1895 Treaty of Shimonoseki. Rare historical posters will illustrate how Taiwan played a crucial role in international trade. All Taipei Campus faculty and students are invited to attend and gain deeper insights into Taiwan’s international history. \nThe “Interlibrary Book Loan and Return Service“ is a collaboration between Soochow University\, Tamkang University and Ming Chuan University\, allowing free cross-campus book borrowing and returning for faculty and students. Starting now\, each person can borrow up to 10 books from each participating university for 21 days. Requests will be processed every Tuesday and Thursday\, making it easy to access a wider range of academic resources. Please note that failure to collect reserved books will result in a suspension of services for the semester. Before using this service\, kindly review the personal data collection statement on the system homepage. \nLastly\, the Library E-resource Instruction Workshop for October is now open for registration. These sessions aim to help faculty and students effectively use library resources for teaching and research. DESCRIPTION:愛閱讀的同學們注意啦！圖書館全新電子資源活動「在E世界閱讀的我」現已開跑。活動自即日起至10／13（日），邀請全校教職員生透過閱讀電子書來重建E世界的平衡；故事背景設定在一個名為E世界的虛擬空間，這個世界原本充滿綠意與和諧，但如今面臨社會不公、貧窮、飢餓、生態破壞及氣候變遷等多重挑戰，迫切需要大家的幫助來恢復其生機。 \n參與活動非常簡單，首先至圖書館活動現場選擇一個閱讀養分主題，掃描QRcode並借閱兩本主題相關的電子書，讓知識成為幫助E世界重建的重要力量。借閱完成後，可至圖書館櫃台出示借閱畫面，隨即享有一次輪盤抽獎的機會，還有機會贏得卡皮巴拉吊飾、卡皮巴拉飲料提袋、毛絨卡套等精美小禮物。活動最後，參加者還需填寫滿意度調查問卷，分享閱讀心得並完成整個活動流程。 \n圖書館提醒大家，每人每個主題僅限參加一次，禮物數量有限，送完為止。主辦單位保有本活動的最終解釋權，並有權根據實際情況對活動規則進行修改或終止。想要以閱讀來貢獻E世界的朋友們，千萬別錯過這次兼具知識與趣味的活動！ \nAttention all book lovers! From today until Sunday\, October 13\, all faculty\, staff\, and students are invited to help restore balance to the E-World through the power of e-book reading. The event is set in a virtual world called the E-World\, which was once lush and harmonious but now faces multiple challenges such as social injustice\, poverty\, hunger\, ecological destruction\, and climate change. Your help is urgently needed to bring life back to this world. \nParticipating is simple! First\, visit the library’s event site and choose a reading theme. Scan the QR code and borrow two e-books related to the chosen theme. Let knowledge become a powerful tool to help rebuild the E-World. After borrowing the books\, show your reading screen at the library’s front desk to receive a chance to spin the prize wheel.
