SUMMARY:傳播學院 School of Communication｜110級聯合畢展 Class of 2021 Joint Graduation Exhibition《夢蝣 Dreammayfly》
\nThe School of Communication’s Class of 2021 Joint Graduation Exhibition\, titled “Dreammayfly”\, will take place from May 30 to June 1 at Bopiliao Historic Block in Wanhua\, Taipei (Performance Hall\, No. 153–155\, Guangzhou Street\, Wanhua Dist.\, Taipei City). This exhibition brings together students from four departments within School of Communication: RTV\, ADSM\, New Media and Communication Administration\, and Audiovisual Journalism and Social Media Communication. It marks the first joint graduation exhibition under School of Communication in eight years\, and the first since the departments began separate admissions in the 2014 academic year. \nThe theme “Dreammayfly” fuses the notions of “dream” and “mayfly”. A dream signifies a beginning\, while the mayfly symbolizes perseverance. Though each student may seem insignificant on their own\, when united\, their collective creativity becomes a powerful force capable of changing the world. The mayfly’s short lifespan is intense and vibrant—much like the passion and dedication communication students pour into their craft. Despite long nights of editing or countless rounds of brainstorming\, they persist with courage and resilience. \nThe exhibition features works in two main categories: Thesis and Multimedia. \nIn the Thesis category: \n\n\n“A Study on College Students’ Media Dependence and Digital Usage Patterns” explores students’ reliance on social platforms and the positive and negative effects shaped by their usage preferences. \n\n\n“Disaster Narratives and Audience Experience in Makoto Shinkai’s Animated Trilogy” examines how visual and auditory elements create emotional resonance and impact viewers’ thoughts and feelings. \n\n\nIn the Multimedia category: \n\n\nPodcast projects such as “Light Through the Cracks” delve into social issues from psychological and humanitarian perspectives\, incorporating stories from individuals\, experts and volunteers\, as well as relevant media and interviews to inspire listeners with real-life experiences. \n\n\n“Take Love With You” focuses on the power of accurate information and goodwill in modern society\, conveying the core belief that even small actions can lead to meaningful change. \n\n\nDocumentary: “Hands of Craft” highlights Taiwan’s traditional artisans. Through in-depth interviews and footage\, it portrays how handcraft professionals strive to preserve their art in a fast-paced world dominated by technology and automation\, while navigating the challenges of economic pressure. \nHorizontal short film: “Compass” tells a story of growth\, pressure and self-discovery. Combining live-action footage with 2D animation\, it presents a second-dimensional character as a guide\, leading viewers to uncover forgotten inner stories. \nThe exhibition also incorporates immersive experiences\, structured around three thematic stages: \n\n\n“The Egg｜Birth” \n\n\n“The Nymph｜Exploration” \n\n\n“The Imago｜Transformation” \n\n\nThese interactive designs offer a rich sensory journey that mirrors the evolution of each communication student. \nAll faculty\, students\, and media professionals are warmly invited to attend and step into the world of “Dreammayfly”—a shared journey of life\, creativity and storytelling.

Department of Product Design Furniture Exhibition "Construct-GO" in Bopiliao Historic Block
\nDepartment of Product Design will hold a furniture design joint exhibition titled “Construct-GO” from June 26 to 29 at spaces 13 and 15 in Bopiliao Historic Block in Wanhua. Guided by Professor Lin Fu-nien\, students of the “Furniture Design” course have deconstructed and reassembled structures to create innovative imagery\, symbolizing the concretion of progress. The exhibition is open to the public and faculty members for free. \nThis year’s theme\, “Construct-GO”\, conveys the idea of deconstruction and reassembly\, with the pronunciation similar to the English word “GO”. Chairs represent the smallest unit of interaction between people and space\, akin to the smallest unit of architecture. Twenty-six juniors from the Product Design Department\, who are taking the “Furniture Design” course\, have applied their knowledge to design and create new imagery using various materials. The exhibition will feature 24 innovative chair and table designs. \nUnder Professor Lin Fu-nien’s guidance\, the “Furniture Structure” course in the first semester of the junior year focuses on wood processing\, emphasizing structural concepts through preliminary training and the creation of small furniture pieces. This course places a special emphasis on the structure and form of furniture. In the second semester\, the “Furniture Design” course explores the relationship between furniture functionality\, living functions\, and space. The course integrates AI-assisted design processes to conceive products that align with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). \nWe welcome everyone to visit and enjoy the exhibition for free.
