\n• Gallery B｜還。 \n• Gallery C｜還。 \n• Gallery D｜還。 \nExhibition Origin \nSince the first exhibition “Archimeeting U” in 2008\, the Tainan City Architects Association has been dedicated to connecting architects across generations through exhibitions and forums\, exploring the relationship between architecture and everyday life. Over the years\, each edition of the triennial has deepened its thematic focus—ranging from spatial narratives to urban memory—gradually expanding into international dialogues. In 2024\, we partnered with Sendai\, Japan\, to initiate Taiwan-Japan architectural exchanges\, laying the groundwork for a broader curatorial vision for 2025 Triennial. Returning once again to Tainan Art Museum\, this exhibition embarks on a journey of architectural thought and sensory experience. \nCuratorial Theme: Re-turning to the Origin of Architecture \n“Re-turning ‘Home’” is not merely about returning—it is a reexamination\, a reinterpretation of “home”\, “origin” and “intention”. Borrowing the metaphor of the “Home” key on a keyboard\, the theme emphasizes how people seek belonging and orientation within space and time. For architecture\, the “origin” is the starting point for layout and positioning\, as well as the foundation of design intention and core values. \nExhibition Structure: Four Points of “Return” \nThis exhibition unfolds through four interwoven gallery spaces\, guiding visitors on a journey back to architecture’s origin: \n• Gallery A | Re-turning 「Home」: \nStarting with the notion of “home”\, this section explores how architectural language responds to emotional connections and the sense of belonging within a dwelling. \n• Gallery B | Re-turning 「Originality 」: \nReveals how architects revisit and refine their original intentions throughout the design process. \n• Gallery C | Re-turning 「Hometown」: \nInvestigates architectural connections between place and future through the historical context of Tainan. \n• Gallery D | Re-turning 「Domain 」 : \nInvites international architectural dialogues to co-create diverse points of cultural resonance. \nEach gallery is a reflection on the essence of architecture and a deeper inquiry into the relationship between people and space—from the personal to the urban\, from the local to the global—rethinking how architecture continues to define our way “home”.

\n「動搖世代的啟航：蔣渭水生命軌跡」特展資訊\n日期：114年08月22日〜115年08月\n開放時間：上午9時30分至下午５時30分（週一休館）\n地址：渭水驛站（臺北市大同區延平北路二段27號） \n  \nSpecial Exhibition: Set Sail in a Shaking Era — The Life Trajectory of Chiang Wei-shui\nThe Wei Shui Station\, under the Department of Cultural Affairs\, Taipei City Government\, is proud to present its latest exhibition: “Set Sail in a Shaking Era: The Life Trajectory of Chiang Wei-shui.” Curated by the Chiang Wei-shui Cultural Foundation\, this exhibition offers a profound look at the life of Taiwan’s pioneer of democratic enlightenment through the lens of a “Life River.” \nThe exhibition is inspired by Chiang Wei-shui’s own stirring words: \n\n“A shaking era is the happiest era for humanity; for only through the tremors of today can we achieve the progress of tomorrow.” \n\nMessage from the Curator\nChen Ya-chieh\, CEO of the Chiang Wei-shui Cultural Foundation\, shares that the goal is for visitors to not only learn about Chiang’s activism but also to feel his struggles\, choices\, and passion within the flow of history. Tate Modern\, UK Exhibition
\nJoseph Mallord William Turner (1775-1851)\, Britain’s greatest painter\, is known as the “Painter of Light”. Through his exceptional control of color and light\, he vividly captured the movement and power of nature\, redefining the meaning of landscape painting. \n2025 marks the 250th anniversary of William Turner’s birth. The Tate Modern in London has launched a series of commemorative events\, titled “Turner 250”. The highlight is the largest-ever global touring exhibition of William Turner’s work: “William Turner: Sublime Echoes”. Following stops in Monaco and Shanghai\, the exhibition will return to Taiwan in June of this year. Featuring 80 authentic works by Turner\, including drawings\, oil paintings\, and watercolors\, the exhibition fully captures his remarkable creative journey\, making it Taiwan’s most significant art event of the year! \n⊳英國泰德美術館 Tate Modern\, UK \n從私人收藏到國家級美術館 打破傳統博物館思維的藝術機構 \nFrom private collection to national art museum\, an art institution that breaks the traditional museum mentality \n英國泰德美術館於1897年由利物浦糖商亨利·泰德（Henry Tate）爵士創立，早年以國家藝廊的方向發展，至今在英國已有四座美術館的規模，包括歷史最悠久的泰德不列顛美術館（Tate Britain） 、英國北方藝術重鎮泰德利物浦美術館（Tate Liverpool）、深耕在地文化發展的泰德聖艾夫斯美術館（Tate St Ives）、以及人氣最旺的泰德現代美術館（Tate Modern）等。 \nFounded in 1897 by Liverpool sugar merchant Sir Henry Tate\, the Tate Gallery in the UK initially developed as a national gallery. Today\, it encompasses four galleries in the UK: Tate Britain\, the oldest; Tate Liverpool\, a major hub for Northern art; Tate St Ives\, deeply engaged in local cultural development; and Tate Modern\, the most popular. As the UK’s most representative and highly visited gallery\, the Tate Gallery boasts a collection encompassing 500 years of British and Western art\, with a particularly significant collection of masterpieces by William H. The hundreds of paintings and tens of thousands of watercolors and drawings donated by Turner during his final years are among the most sought-after and must-see attractions. In recent years\, the Tate Modern has pioneered thematic exhibitions that transcend timelines\, establishing it as one of the most forward-thinking art museums in the world. \n全球史上最大規模 威廉．透納真跡畫展首度登台 \nThe world’s largest exhibition of William Turner’s authentic paintings debuts in Taiwan \n威廉·透納在世時就創立了基金，意在幫助貧窮的藝術家，這也成為泰德美術館成立英國最著名的藝術獎「透納獎」最重要的原因。 \nDuring his lifetime\, William Turner established a fund to aid impoverished artists\, a key reason for the Tate Modern to establish the Turner Prize\, Britain’s most prestigious art award. After his death\, some of his paintings were bequeathed to the nation\, while the majority remain at the Tate Modern. As the largest collection of Turner’s works\, the Tate Modern will present 80 authentic Turner paintings\, organized into seven sections: English Landscapes\, the Alps\, Venice\, Storms at Sea\, Between Sea and Sky\, Historical Stories\, and Sublime Aesthetics\, spanning his career. To highlight the defining era of Turner’s work\, the Tate Modern has also selected nearly 30 works by contemporary artists\, creating an unprecedented\, largest\, and most comprehensive exhibition dedicated to William Turner. Highlights of the exhibition area \n⊳始於英國風景 Starting from the British landscape \n透納因早期探索英國風景，而成為大自然崇高力量的熱情觀察者，他詳細描繪這些自然的景象，更讓他聲名遠播。 \nTurner’s early explorations of the English landscape established him as a passionate observer of the sublime power of nature\, and his meticulous depiction of these natural scenes further cemented his fame. To authentically capture the atmosphere of his surroundings\, Turner often immersed himself in nature for research\, incorporating on-site sketches\, memory\, and imagination into his paintings\, transforming these elements into breathtaking compositions. （Landscape Composition with a Ruined Castle on a Cliff）約瑟夫·馬洛德·威廉·透納（Joseph Mallord William Turner），1792–3。（圖片來源：TATE） \nLandscape Composition with a Ruined Castle on a Cliff by Joseph Mallord William Turner\, 1792–3. Walk into the mountains \n透納在1802年第一次遊歷歐洲時，立即受到阿爾卑斯山的壯麗景色強烈吸引。 \nOn his first trip to Europe in 1802\, Turner was instantly captivated by the majestic beauty of the Alps. He began exploring the mountains\, documenting his experiences firsthand through sketches and watercolors. Turner was also captivated by the unique light and atmosphere of the mountains. He observed the reflections of colors in snow\, water\, and sky\, completing thousands of elementary studies and applying unexpectedly bold colors to striking effect. His mastery of light and color inspired Monet and the French Impressionists\, and his innovative techniques have influenced generations of artists. （Brunnen\, from the Lake of Lucerne: Sample Study）約瑟夫·馬洛德·威廉·透納（Joseph Mallord William Turner），1843-5。（圖片來源：TATE） \nBrunnen\, from the Lake of Lucerne: Sample Study by Joseph Mallord William Turner\, 1843-5. \nIn the 18th century\, Turner lived in a world where paintings that vividly depicted myths or biblical stories were considered the most noble form of fine art. Most paintings tended towards a poetic and picturesque classicism. However\, Turner broke new ground. He employed classical scenes and innovative painting techniques to create paintings that were less idealistic\, more emotionally affecting\, and in line with emerging tastes. His works not only won the admiration of his contemporaries\, but also amazed viewers for centuries to come. （Story of Apollo and Daphne）約瑟夫·馬洛德·威廉·透納（Joseph Mallord William Turner），1837。（圖片來源：TATE） \nStory of Apollo and Daphne by Joseph Mallord William Turner\, 1837. \nOf the many artists who have depicted Venice\, Turner is one of the few who has found an emotional connection with the unique character of this magnificent water city. His career is remarkable for its achievements and innovations\, and his paintings of Venice were immediately recognized as some of his most magical and dazzling works upon their first viewing. To this day\, Turner’s vision remains uniquely significant\, capturing both the beauty and sadness of Venice\, and the terrifying threat of the sea swallowing it. （圖片來源：TATE） \nVenice – Maria della Salute\, Joseph Mallord William Turner\, 1844. \nSeascapes comprise over half of Turner’s oeuvre\, including paintings of whaling vessels\, fishing boats\, shipwrecks and battles. These are his most explosive and evocative works\, capturing the perils of the ocean and humanity’s insignificance and powerlessness in the face of nature. （‘Hurrah! for the Whaler Erebus! Another Fish!’） （圖片來源：TATE） \n‘Hurrah! for the Whaler Erebus! Another Fish!’ Joseph Mallord William Turner\, 1846. Between Sea and Sky \n透納不僅在畫作中體現大自然的偉大力量，更強調其具有詩意和催眠的特質。 \nTurner not only captured the majestic power of nature in his paintings\, but also emphasized its poetic and hypnotic qualities. His depictions of sea and sky involved hundreds of close studies of details such as drifting clouds\, energetic waves\, and surging surf. These details\, when viewed together\, reveal Turner’s profound awe for both the sea and the sky. （圖片來源：TATE） \nThe Blue Rigi\, Sunrise\, Joseph Mallord William Turner\, 1842. \nIn his later years\, Turner produced numerous paintings that depict purely light and atmospheric elements. These abstract works\, containing minimal figurative or topographical elements\, were often considered “unfinished” at the time. However\, the number of such works preserved in Turner’s studio suggests that he had completed them to his satisfaction. These works\, embodying Turner’s late style\, earned him the reputation of a prophet of modern painting. （圖片來源：TATE） \nThree Seascapes by Joseph Mallord William Turner\, 1827. \nCurator Elizabeth Brooke noted that the Tate Modern has never loaned such a large number of Turner works at once\, including over 40 oil paintings. This will be the largest-ever global touring exhibition. The exhibition will showcase William Turner’s defining influence on painting and the representation of the sublime in Western art through dialogue with works by nearly 30 leading artists\, including John Akonfa\, Olafur Eliasson\, Richard Long\, Cornelia Parker\, Katie Patterson\, Mark Roscoe and Jessica Worboys. She added\, “2025 marks the 250th anniversary of Turner’s birth\, making this summer’s exhibition in Taiwan even more meaningful. One of the most eye-catching works\, ‘Blue Rigi\, Sunrise’\, will return to the Tate Modern for a 10-year period after its tour. We sincerely invite everyone to seize this rare opportunity and witness the magic of William Turner’s art firsthand.” \n報名 To apply：https://www.opentix.life/event/1914580546594426880?srsltid=AfmBOoqBCcUaWmpgrEL_eEsR88CAgAZgnJDtCO3StRLfEB80Eintm17T

30 Years of Rave in Taiwan：finally... READY TO DANCE
｝ \n“30 Years of Rave in Taiwan is not just a commemorative party\, but a full-scale ‘READY TO DANCE’ project that re-archives a pivotal chapter of Taiwan’s electronic dance music history—transforming into both an exhibition and a documentary.” \nThis meaningful rave event is initiated once again by DJ @LLEN\, who organized Taiwan’s very first outdoor rave\, in collaboration with tripper\, as part of the “30 Years of Rave in Taiwan” series. The project aims to bring together key figures and collectives from the old\, middle\, and new generations of Taiwan’s electronic music culture\, creating a shared moment of dialogue and exchange. More than simply a tribute to “THE PARTY”\, this is a collective call to come together and dance again. \nThis rave is no longer just a party—it is a reconstruction and reconnection between history and the present. It will serve as both a visual exhibition of “Taiwan’s rave culture” and a reinvention of the rave format. \nThrough an open call for submissions\, we will collect flyers and visual materials from different generations\, alongside participation from current rave crews still actively hosting parties. These exhibition walls will become cultural carriers of memory and practice\, presenting diverse definitions and imaginations of rave. From Rave to Boundless Generations of Dance \n這是一場不設邊界的狂舞計畫。 \nThis is a boundary-free rave project—not only a party\, but also an intergenerational\, open dialogue of sound and vision. \nPerformers include: \n\n\nDJ @LLEN\, who launched Taiwan’s first outdoor party in 1995. \n\n\nHWA (ELVIS.T)\, Asia’s leading techno musician and founder of the ESKAPE label. \n\n\nSonia Calico\, initiator of the 2024 Glowball Festival. \n\n\nINN\, a new-generation techno artist fusing psychedelic\, hypnotic\, and tribal rhythms. \n\n\nBefore the main party performance\, a preview forum will be held to kick off the series\, sparking intergenerational dialogue. \nWhen DJ @LLEN first played electronic dance music in Taipei\, the culture had yet to take shape. SUMMARY:新富有樂市 U-MKT FAIR｜《Si So Mi》＋《熱帶複眼 Compound Eyes of Tropical》電影放映 Film Screenings
\nTo coincide with U-MKT FAIR’s September theme\, “Monga Spirit Market”\, the Xinfu Alternative Cinema is back in action! \nDuring the event\, we will present three films of different styles related to the Ghost Festival — whether it’s the classic animated feature Grandma and Her Ghosts centered on traditional folk beliefs\, the darkly humorous Si So Mi\, or the visually rich Compound Eyes of Tropical blending paper-craft artistry with folklore. Through these cinematic experiences\, audiences will break away from conventional notions of folk culture and rediscover these uncanny tales that transcend the boundaries of life and death. \nIn the animation Si So Mi\, Hsu Cheu-Chan begins with the image of a flattened rat carcass on the street\, collecting various death postures of animals struggling to survive in the city and transforming them into dance — such as the water dance of a drowning rat and the ribbon dance of an eviscerated body. These movements are woven into the German song “Ach wie ist’s möglich dann”\, shifting perspectives to offer a new attitude toward confronting mortality and disappearance. \nInspired by Taiwan’s festive troupes and adapted from the Southeast Asian folktale “The Mousedeer Crosses the River”\, this animation uses costumed body performances to blur the line between humans and animals\, reenacting the river-crossing story. Through the perspective of a fly’s compound eyes\, it invites viewers to see the multiple facets of a single event\, exploring cultural fluidity\, identity\, locality and global interconnectedness. \n \n \n⭔ 活動資訊 Event Details \n時　間 Schedule｜共2場次 2 Sessions\n2025／09／06（六 Sat）13:00-13:22\n2025／09／07（日 Sun）15:30-15:52 \n地　點 Venue｜新富町文化市場 U-MKT／新厝邊（清水模2F）\n參　加 Admission｜NT$250，含《艋舺靈界市》主題特調飲品一杯 includes one themed drink: “Monga Spirit Market” Special Cocktail \n報名 To apply｜https://www.accupass.com/eflow/ticket/2508140713503092767840 \n⭔ 飲品介紹 About the Drink \n《艋舺靈界市》主題特調飲品／來自新富の孟婆湯\n本次主題特調飲品由「萬華世界下午酒場」期間限定推出，請於購票時選擇含酒精／無酒精版本。 \nSpecial Cocktail | “Monga Spirit Market” Themed Drink – Xinfu’s Meng Po SoupThis special drink is crafted by the pop-up bar “Wanhua World Afternoon Bar”. The 2025 U-MKT FAIR highlights Wanhua’s unique cultural identity with quarterly themed markets and experiences\, inviting the public to discover more possibilities within this historic district. \nAmong its traditions\, the “Monga Ullambana Festival” at Longshan Temple has been preserved for over 150 years and is recognized as an intangible cultural heritage of Taipei City. Surrounding industries thrive on this ritual economy\, from intricate paper-craft mansions to symbolic pastries and offerings of incense and gold paper — all marking an elaborate month-long festival that chronicles Northern Taiwan’s history while sustaining its living heritage. \nThis September\, “Monga Spirit Market” draws inspiration from this Ghost Festival tradition to explore local customs\, vanishing crafts\, and the folklore of ghosts and mythical creatures in Taiwanese folk culture. Through markets\, talks\, workshops\, and film screenings\, we invite you to break the taboo and engage in a cross-temporal cultural dialogue. \n➔ Follow U-MKT FAIR on Instagram!

Since forming the experimental band Ground Zero in the 1990s\, Otomo has been a leading name in Japan’s experimental music scene. Beyond his work as an improvisational guitarist\, he introduced turntablism into experimental music\, using samples ranging from jazz to model operas from Cultural Revolution era. \nHis creations span jazz\, rock\, free improvisation\, and noise music. After Ground Zero disbanded in 1998\, its members became internationally recognized figures in free improvisation\, now residing across Germany and Japan. Later\, Otomo formed ONJQ (Otomo Yoshihide’s New Jazz Quintet). In recent years\, he published his autobiography The Music Era I Grew Up In and has also ventured into film and TV scoring\, including for morning drama Amachan\, A Long Goodbye\, and VIVANT\, among others. Throughout his career\, Otomo has collaborated with countless legendary jazz and improvisational musicians worldwide.
