Dragon Boat Activity
\nThe RUMA Dragon Boat Team was formed in 2024 by a group of dragon boat enthusiasts from various countries (currently\, our members are from Taiwan\, Malaysia\, the Philippines\, Argentina\, Brazil and the United States). The four letters in RUMA stand for Rebellion\, Unity\, Bravery\, and Friendship. Additionally\, in Malay\, “RUMA” means “home.” We hope that while enjoying dragon boating\, our teammates can also become part of the RUMA family\, exercising together and staying healthy together! \n賽事獲獎實績 Team historical performance \n2024新北市議長盃龍舟錦標賽 大型混合龍舟 第7名（共49隊參賽） \n7th place (out of 49 teams)\, 2024 New Taipei City Race\, Standard Boat\, Mixed Open \n2024新北市議長盃龍舟錦標賽 大型混合龍舟 總決賽（5-8名）精彩瞬間 Highlights of 2024 New Taipei City Race Standard Mixed Open\, Grand Final (5th-8th places) \n \n體驗活動流程 Agenda \n\n\n\n時間 Time (am)\n項目 Item\n\n\n8:30\n集合 Meet up\n\n\n8:30-8:45\n岸上划船安全、姿勢、口令說明 Introduction & Instructions\n\n\n8:50-9:00\n熱身 & 著裝上船 Warm-up & boarding\n\n\n9:00-10:15\n上船體驗 Training\n\n\n10:15-10:30\n上岸收操 & 反饋 Cool-down & feedback\n\n\n\n*以上為週六體驗活動時間，週日體驗活動集合時間為7:30。 The above schedule is for the Saturday experience activities. Many of our friends had never even paddled a canoe before coming to try it out\, and quite a few got hooked after just one experience. I don’t know how to swim. What if I fall into the water?\n\n練習時會有專業的舵手掌舵確保練習時的安全，每位上船的朋友也都會穿著救生衣，基本上是不會翻船啦。 During practice\, there will be a professional helmsman to ensure safety\, and everyone on the boat will wear a life jacket. Basically\, it’s very unlikely to capsize. Does dragon boating require a lot of physical strength? I see that everyone in the races has a V-shaped body.\n\n如果有人跟你說划龍舟不累，那他一定是騙你，體能、體態這件事其實還是需要配合飲食控制和持續自我堅持才能維持一定的水準，但我們有隊友加入龍舟隊一年後，配合飲食控制、重訓、划龍舟，體重減了12公斤，體脂降了5%，相信你也可以😄！ If someone tells you that dragon boating isn’t tiring\, they’re definitely lying. Maintaining physical fitness and body shape does require diet control and persistent self-discipline. However\, we have teammates who\, after joining the dragon boat team for a year\, lost 12 kilograms and reduced their body fat by 5% through diet control\, strength training and dragon boating. We believe you can do it too 😄! Do I need to buy any equipment to participate in the event?\n\n不需要喔，我們會準備槳 & 救生衣給你使用。 No\, you don’t. We will provide paddles and life jackets for you.

SUMMARY:靜˙物 Still Life
\n參展藝術家 \n王亮尹\n吳思嶔\n走路草農／藝團\n邱承宏\n張義雄\n莫伊塞斯‧巴瑞歐斯\n郭柏川\n劉啟祥\n賴九岑 \n策展人\n王瑋婷 \nDuring childhood\, objects are imbued with our imaginations. A simple stick becomes a person or a bridge; some grains of rice on the kitchen table can be arranged into a long train; a bicycle becomes a frame for a tent; blankets can be used to construct a magical fort; and a living room rug is the sea. In the minds of children\, simple\, everyday objects become toys\, props\, platforms for performances\, or living things; and they use their creativity to make up endless stories\, plays\, and even imaginary friends. Artists are actually a lot like children—throughout history\, they have used their imaginations to explore and study objects in a similar way\, but also to create different kinds of still lifes. Still Life\, a project by the Children’s Art Education Center\, takes as its point of departure still-life paintings and sculptures in the Museum collection\, and has specially commissioned interactive installations. The project endeavors to facilitate interesting interactions with these works\, as well as exploration of how artists create various dynamic presentations of objects in their artworks. Just as children do\, artists can communicate by creating interesting connections among simple objects. The exhibition is divided into three subthemes: Relationships Among Objects\, Recorder of Time and Objects Recreated. These themes deconstruct the still-life genre and encourage visitors to view the world around them from novel perspectives. The exhibition includes not only static artworks\, but also those offering opportunities for experiential exploration of objects’ meanings through manipulation and reassembly. \nArtists\nWANG Liang-Yin\nWU Sih-Chin\nWalking Grass Agriculture\nCHIJ Chen-Hung\nCHANG Yi-Hsiung\nMoises BARRIOS\nKUO Po-Chuan\nLIU Chi-Hsiang\nLAI Chiu-Chen \nCurator\n王瑋婷 Wang\, Wei-Ting \n日期 Date｜3/22－8/31 09:30 ~ 17:30（每週一休館 Closed every Mondays） \n收費 Fee｜NT$30

Yung Tsun Ceramics Exhibition by Chiu Yung-Feng
\nChiu Yung-Feng continually refines traditional ceramic techniques\, pushing the limits of clay and challenging conventional perceptions. Through self-exploration and relentless experimentation\, he breaks away from conventional thinking\, incorporating elements of nature and cultural expressions to create a unique aesthetic interpretation—Yung Tsun Ceramics. This artistic approach harmonizes the natural and the human\, presenting a textured beauty that is both timeless and elegant. \nUsing clay as his canvas and crackles as his pigment\, Chiu skillfully integrates hand-molding techniques\, glaze control and environmental factors\, bringing ceramics to life with organic forms. His works seem to pulse with the rhythms of the earth\, capturing fleeting moments in time and space. They serve as both a tribute to existence and a continuation of traditional craftsmanship\, carrying the collective imprint of a shared cultural heritage. \nSince its debut\, Yung Tsun Ceramics has received widespread recognition and multiple awards. This exhibition features the “Mountain-Walking Series” and “Yung Tsun Ceramics Series”\, among other works. Taiwanese art historian Hsiao Chiung-Jui has noted that Chiu’s Mountain-Walking Series provides a compelling case for contemporary Taiwanese ceramic artists to rethink the boundaries between “tradition and modernity” and “craft and art”.

\n藝術家：\n張乾琦、周慶輝、全明遠、何經泰、謝三泰、石內都、劉振祥、羅晟文、森山大道、西野壯平、盧純澤Suntag Noh、凱薩琳．歐佩、安娜．里德勒、沈昭良、杉本博司、黃海昌、徐冰 \nThe exhibition “Theater of the Times: Contemporary Images and Their Many Interpretations” focuses on the evolution of reportage photography under the rapid advancement of technology\, from the analog era with its professional photographic technology to the digital era with a camera in everyone’s smartphone\, from paper media to digital platforms and even digital images generated by algorithms. It ponders the changes and ideas brought into being by photographers\, image production\, and image contents. In Paragraphs on Conceptual Art\, the American conceptual art pioneer Solomon LeWitt (1928- 2007) wrote\, “The idea becomes a machine that makes the art.” This is the core value of contemporary documentary photography. \nThe exhibition adopts the Japanese photographer Hiroshi Sugimoto’s photo series Theaters as a metaphor\, ruminating on the interrelationships among creators\, camera functions\, photography\, time and image production. In the era of digital photography\, contemporary photographers have basically adopted the creative approach of “anti-reportage\,” altering or slowing down the cadence at which reportorial photographs were taken in the past\, paying less attention to decisive moments and conflicts\, or using medium- or large-format cameras (instead of the usual 35mm cameras) in an attempt to present their subjective worlds in stylized manners\, with attitudes of circumspection and contemplation. \nIn On Photography\, Susan Sontag observes\, “Photographs\, which cannot themselves explain anything\, are inexhaustible invitations to deduction\, speculation and fantasy.” This exhibition examines contemporary image works by Taiwanese and international artists from two main approaches—“The Cameraperson Carrying Their Camera” and “The Artist Using Images Recorded by Cameras.” It also exploring three subordinate themes: “Hidden Protagonists\,” “Transformation and Rebirth” and “Visual Landscapes.” Delving into photography as a kind of art with its own unique qualities\, presenting works by 17 artists in a diverse array of forms\, such as photographs\, moving images\, video installation\, photographic theater and still photo film. Here\, we ponder how contemporary documentary images reflect reality\, as well as their outlook\, influence and meaning for human society. \nArtists： \nCHANG Chien-Chi\, CHOU Ching-Hui\, CHUAN Ming-Yuan\, HO Ching-Tai\, HSIEH San-Tai\, ISHIUCHI Miyako\, LIU Chen-Hsiang\, LO Sheng-Wen\, MORIYAMA Daido\, NISHINO Sohei\, NOH Suntag\, Catherine OPIE\, Anna RIDLER\, SHEN Chao-Liang\, SUGIMOTO Hiroshi\, WONG Hoy Cheong\, XU Bing \n日期 Date｜3/29－7/13 09:30 ~ 17:30（每週一休館 Closed every Mondays） \n收費 Fee｜NT$30
