His works accumulate the diverse spatialities of everyday life and present subjective interpretations through decorative planar effects. The interplay of color blocks and hues creates spatial aesthetics of contrast\, constructing a fantastical realm of reassembled symbols. These compositions portray impressions of Taiwan’s urban landscapes and natural scenery.

The Memorial Exhibition of Leo Lee
\nLeo Lee\, a pioneering artist and educator in ceramics in Taiwan\, was born in 1943 in Taipei. After graduating with a major in sculpture from the National Taiwan Academy of Arts\, he began his ceramics career in 1970 under the mentorship of the renowned Taiwanese ceramist\, WU Jang-Nung. Over the course of his career\, he operated studios across Taipei and New Taipei City. In addition to being an artist\, LEE was a passionate ceramic art educator\, devoting his life mentoring numerous students. This exhibition commemorates the contributions of this ceramics pioneer to art of ceramics in Taiwan. \nAs a dedicated artist and educator\, LEE played a key role in supporting local ceramics community and advancing ceramics research in Taiwan. He served as a lecturer\, consultant\, and juror for ceramics competitions at this museum. Furthermore\, he gathered and led important ceramists in Taiwan\, helping to enhance the development of local ceramics art. With his vision and selfless dedication\, LEE opened new chapters for Taiwanese ceramics\, ushering an era rich with innovative ideas and creative potential that warrants further research and investigation. \nAccording to LEE’s vision\, this exhibition is conceptually divided into two themes: creation and teaching. In the “creation” theme\, three subtopics—Forms and Shapes\, Observation in Nature\, and From Realism to Abstract—showcase his brilliant artworks and his exploration of the possibilities of ceramics in a casual\, joyful manner. This theme also highlights the diversity of his work\, featuring not only ceramics but also sculptures\, digital prints\, and sketches. The “teaching” theme demonstrates LEE’s dedication and generosity as an educator\, as he selflessly shared his knowledge and experience. He streamlined the creative process so that even children could enjoy making ceramics and bringing art into everyday life. \nSadly\, during the preparation of this exhibition\, LEE passed away. As a result\, LEE’s family and members of his studio completed the final preparations. Special thanks are extended to LEE’s wife LI Mei-Mei and artists from his studio\, KUAN Wen-Hung\, Khong Yao\, CHEN Li-Min\, Barry You\, and CHIU Pi-Hsia\, for their contribution to this exhibition. Special appreciation also goes to CHANG Ching-Yuan and Winnie Yang\, for writing articles for this event. 1F Sunlight Gallery

\nPeople often say: “Seeing the mountain as a mountain\, seeing the mountain as no longer a mountain\, and seeing the mountain as a mountain again.”\nIn my abstract paintings\, however\, it is “not looking at the mountain\, yet finding the mountain.” \nThis reflects my faith:\n“We do not fix our eyes on what is seen\, but on what is unseen\, since what is seen is temporary\, but what is unseen is eternal.” \nI long to go up the mountain—to the place where God dwells\, to converse with Him rather than with people. Last day open till 14:00

SUMMARY:《在．樹林》蘇敏(蘇光媛)創作個展 "In the Forest" – Su Min Solo Art Exhibition
\nIn the Forest series attempts to use elongated compositions\, creating the sensation of strolling through the woods. The artist is deeply enamored with the scroll format\, which unfolds with a narrative and surprises—an elegant approach to capturing time and space. \nThis exhibition portrays scenes from the artist’s everyday life. Within a lychee orchard\, the seasons bring dramatic changes\, cycles of growth and decay\, and stories that unfold daily. Encounters with snakes and other animals during walks with her dogs\, as well as moments of loss\, such as burying beloved pets in the forest\, turn the woods into a living diary—a record of life’s journey. \n展覽期間 Date｜2025/01/09-2025/1/22 \n展覽時間 Time｜09:00-17:00 \n展覽地點 Venue｜新莊文化藝術中心1F藝術廳 Art Gallery\, 1F\, Xin Zhuang Cultural Arts Center（新北市新莊區中平路133號 No. 133\, Zhongping Rd.\, Xinzhuang Dist.\, New Taipei City）

SUMMARY:從保存到再造 From Preservation to Transformation──林主勵新秀創作個展 Solo Exhibition of LIN Zhu-Li
\nOld blankets and clothes often become fragile\, torn or even moldy over time. While replacement may be necessary\, it is difficult to part with items that have been such constant companions. Using a dipping technique\, LIN Zhu-Li transforms the materials of these textiles without altering their original forms. Through this process\, the textiles are preserved\, transformed and reimagined. \nAs an artist\, LIN draws inspiration from daily life\, observing its subtleties and reflecting on the connections and meanings embedded in the objects around him. To convey these reflections\, LIN employs the dipping technique to preserve the appearance of textiles\, such as shower towels and old clothes. This process alters their material properties\, freezing and highlighting the beauty of the textiles’ wrinkles. These items are transformed from soft to hard\, from transient to eternal\, and from everyday objects to ceramic artworks. \nThrough his artworks\, LIN challenges the audience’s perceptions of everyday objects\, encouraging deeper reflection. Furthermore\, LIN selects black and white as the dominant colors in his works to create stark visual contrasts that emphasize texture and details. This choice enriches how textiles can be interpreted and focuses the audience’s attention on details and emotional resonance of his creations.
