Japan Sports Education Skiing Exchange Program
\nTo enhance international mobility and expand overseas sports teaching resources\, as well as to strengthen sports education exchanges with sister schools\, MCU’s Office of Physical Educations\, with support from the Higher Education Sprout Project\, has planned the “Japan Sports Education Skiing Training Camp and Industrial University Visit Exchange”. This program\, in collaboration with Department of Applied Japanese\, Department of Leisure and Recreation Management\, and Japan’s Industrial University\, is scheduled to take place from February 3-8\, 2025\, at Japan’s Industrial University. The camp will involve six days and five nights of skiing training. \nThe program is set to recruit 20 students\, and in previous years\, registration has been extremely competitive\, filling up quickly once announced. Students interested in participating are encouraged to sign up soon! \nAccording to Mr. Huang Han-Nien\, head of Japanese Section at IEE\, one of the unique features of this sports teaching exchange camp is that it offers an official skiing training course shared between MCU and Japan’s Industrial University. This allows students to experience sports education in a different cultural setting while earning credit for 12 hours of physical education in the second semester of 2024 academic year. \nAnother highlight is that the ski resort for the training is the famous Kagura Ski Resort in Yuzawa Town\, Niigata Prefecture\, Japan. Here\, participants will not only learn skiing techniques but also take the “Beginner Skiing Certification Exam” before the course concludes. Based on past experiences\, nearly all Ming Chuan students\, even those new to skiing\, have successfully passed the exam under the guidance of professional instructors at Industrial University\, receiving their skiing certification. \nMr. Huang added that this training visit is a collaborative effort between Office of Physical Educations\, Applied Japanese Department\, and Leisure and Recreation Management Department\, aimed at expanding international cooperation within the university and increasing the potential for recruitment from external sources. Completed registration before November 25

Graduation Production: "Daydream Project" Concert
\nDepartment of Radio & TV’s Class of 2024 will present their graduation production\, the “Daydream Project” concert\, on Saturday\, November 16\, at 18:00 at Taipei Music Center LIVE HOUSE D. Organized by a multinational team of eleven seniors from Taiwan\, Hong Kong and Malaysia\, the students have managed every aspect of the event independently\, showcasing their four years of hard work through this concert. \nThe theme\, “Daydream Project”\, represents a journey of envisioning the future—a path that includes striving for goals\, fulfilling dreams\, challenging oneself and seeking meaningful self-affirmation within society. While others might see it as an unattainable “daydream”\, this is the code the new generation lives by: staying unbound by conventional expectations\, constantly innovating and creating\, and transforming every dream-world image into reality. \nThe concert’s program is structured into four chapters\, symbolizing precious treasures unearthed through a quest. Each chapter captures a different stage of growth and transformation over their college years. The performance will feature twelve songs\, including eight original compositions by the students. The first chapter\, “Prelude” reflects the state of innocent courage and vulnerability in their freshman year. The second chapter\, “Quest” portrays the excitement of exploration\, the triumph of overcoming obstacles\, and the unease of losing direction. The third chapter\, “Chaos” explores different perspectives and the struggle to find clarity amid the fog. The final chapter\, “Rebirth” symbolizes the metamorphosis\, emerging transformed and renewed. \nStudents from Department of Radio & TV have taken full responsibility for every aspect of the concert—from planning\, promotion and ticketing to the performance itself. All tickets are sold out. Lead organizer and senior student\, Chen Yanru\, shared that choosing a concert as their graduation project started as an experimental decision but quickly attracted many participants. The greatest challenge in organizing the event was building teamwork\, with members growing from strangers to a close-knit group. This experience of understanding and supporting each other with dedication and passion left a profound impact on everyone involved. They are eager to bring their “Daydream Project” to life and hear the applause that will make all their efforts worthwhile on concert night.
