Non-Governmental Matters and the Nomadic Researches》施惟捷 分享講座 Lecture by Shih Wei-Chieh
CAT. jpg cafe｜No. 154\, Chaozhou St.\, Da’an Dist.\, Taipei City \n◼︎報名保證金 Deposit｜NT$200／人 person（將於活動現場簽到後全額退還 fully refunded upon on-site check-in） \n◼︎報名 To apply｜https://www.accupass.com/eflow/ticket/2510231201071698732335?utm_campaign=accu_theme&utm_medium=home_north&utm_source=Web \n◼︎講座內容 Lecture Overview｜ \nHello! \nHello! I am an artist\, maker\, and self-taught materials researcher. This year I carried out a five-month nomadic artistic research on dye-sensitized solar cell technology across independent laboratories in Europe and Asia. This journey consisted of various activities\, ranging from geeking camps\, community gatherings\, artist studios\, conferences and independent labs to institutional centers and university semiconductor laboratories. I would like to share how\, in the “play” and travels across these dispersed nodes and community ecologies\, “learning” and “school” take shape as a particular state\, and how these artistic networks support my artistic work in terms of both knowledge and resource gathering. Since 2015\, I have been taking part in these independent art networks\, usually once\, twice a year. In 2022\, I received support from the National Culture and Arts Foundation\, which enabled me to complete a small book entitled Non-Governmental Matters. Before that\, my participation in such activities was mostly funded by government grants. In 2019\, I encountered Hackteria and its main founder Marc Dusseiller—a platform that actively promotes open-source art and bio-art exchanges between Europe and Asia. I also became Hackteria’s first and only fellowship. At present\, Hackteria and its partners are exploring how to organize the next form of gathering—something different from traditional residencies\, art festivals\, and gallery industries—seeking ways for art and knowledge to circulate more freely\, more cross-class\, and in a more decentralized manner. This does not mean that we will completely abandon government support\, but it may provide alternative perspectives and possibilities. If you are interested in these international initiatives\, networks\, we sincerely look forward to and warmly welcome your participation! 他的電子織品作品「I Am Very Happy I Hope You Are Too」曾入選台北數位藝術節和澳洲雪黎大學的「Hello World」展覽等國際展覽。他的作品「溫室之心」曾受Hackteria和Regenerative Energy Communities共同組織的「The Energy Giveaway at the Humuspunk Library」展覽展出（2023）。www.shihweichieh.com \nShih Wei-Chieh is an artist\, maker\, self-taught materials scientist\, and activist who fosters international exchange for independent art events. Movie Night
\nTamsui Lifestyle – Reconnecting with Essence of Life \nSince 2018\, Tamkang University USR Project “Tamsui Good Life: University Town Co-Creation and Design Action Plan” has been deeply rooted in the local community\, focusing on sustainable living in urban neighborhoods\, historic districts\, and rural areas. The project pays special attention to the everyday experiences of seniors\, children\, new immigrants\, and workers\, fostering long-term collaborations with local partners. \nIn 2020\, the initiative expanded into the “Learning City and Countryside Program”\, emphasizing “local editing” and “local design” as key concepts. Through courses and participatory actions\, residents were invited to engage in reshaping their living spaces — a true practice of regional revitalization. During the pandemic\, the project launched “World Heritage Potential Site Field School” and “Living in Tamsui” Forum\, both exploring the meaning of living and belonging in Tamsui. \nBy 2022\, the team had joined the New Taipei Learning City Project\, supporting local business marketing and souvenir design. As Tamsui continues to face urbanization and population growth challenges\, the team advocates for the vision of a “Sustainable City of Everyday Life” — integrating food\, clothing\, housing\, and mobility to co-create a livable urban environment. \nSince 2023\, the Tamsui Lifestyle Festival has served as a platform to deepen these efforts through six strategies: curated experiences\, cultural tours\, craft workshops\, thematic talks\, art performances\, and creative markets. The festival invites residents and newcomers alike to rediscover and celebrate the richness of everyday life in Tamsui — inspiring the imagination of what it means to truly “live here”. \n▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰ \n🎬電影之夜 Movie Night \n꒰活動資訊 Event Details꒱ \n活動時間 Date & Time｜2025.11.15（六 Sat）、11.18（二 Tue）、11.21（五 Fri）18:00-21:00 \n集合地點 Venue｜日落月出 Sunset Moonrise（新北市淡水區公明街43號 No. 43\, Gongming St.\, Tamsui Dist.\, New Taipei City） \n活動費用 Fee｜NT$300（※收費片單 Applicable for paid screenings：冰淇淋的滋味、大學生作品 Rooted in the Land: A poetic documentary that gently tells the story of the earth. Inspired by this idea\, Library presents “Say Hello to Your E-World: Explore Global Culture through Digital Resources”\, an interactive challenge taking place from November 10 (Mon) to November 28 (Fri). The event invites all students and faculty to begin their digital exploration with a simple “Hello” — in any language — and discover the boundless possibilities of the Library’s e-resources. \nCentered on the theme “Language × Knowledge Exploration”\, participants can join the challenge either in person or online. By choosing any greeting in a different language 👋\, participants will be guided to a corresponding task form. They must complete the assigned database search and upload the required file as instructed. Each completed language mission earns one raffle entry\, and those who complete all missions receive an additional bonus chance to win. Participants can also track their progress through the online event page. \nThe Library hopes this creative activity will help students and faculty become more familiar with the use of digital resources through fun and interactive engagement\, while also fostering cross-linguistic and cross-cultural learning perspectives. Everyone is warmly invited to join this knowledge treasure hunt — let a single “Hello” be the start of your journey into the E-world\, where learning is both exciting and global!

SUMMARY:2025書洞市集【無名祭 Festival of the Nameless】：沖繩傳統工藝 Okinawan Traditional Craft─紅型染工作坊 Bingata Dye Workshop
※當天會提供回家後的步驟指南） \n“Bingata Dyeing” is a traditional dyeing technique developed in Okinawa during 15th century. From stencil carving\, paste application\, coloring\, rinsing\, to drying\, every step of the process is intricate\, meticulous\, and full of creative fun. \nThe dyes used in Bingata are vibrant and natural — including vermilion\, crimson\, yellow ochre\, indigo\, and chalk white — all made by grinding plants and minerals into powder and mixing them with soybean extract. When coloring\, a short-bristled brush is used to apply one color at a time\, carefully brushing back and forth in thin layers to gradually build up hues on Japanese paper or fabric. \nBingata artist Asuka Nijigame will hold two sessions of the Bingata Dye Workshop at “Main Altar Mini Stage” of Book Cave Market. Participants can choose their favorite patterns and create their own hand-dyed placemat or tote bag. \n(The workshop will cover the coloring step only. After taking your piece home\, let it sit for one day\, then soak and rinse it in water to remove the paste and excess dye\, and let it dry completely. A printed guide for the home process will be provided on-site.) 製作 帆布包－NT$650 \n（報名時請確實選擇日期、方案，好讓講師可以抓材料喔~） \nSession 1｜Nov 8 (Sat) 16:10–18:00\nSession 2｜Nov 9 (Sun) 14:10–16:00\nVenue｜“Border Stage”\, Festival of the Nameless\, Book Cave Market (Keelung Main Altar Plaza)\nInstructor｜Bingata Artist – Asuka Nijigame \nA. Place an Order Today? No\, Borrow a Book Instead!」
\nAs the Double 11 shopping festival approaches and everyone rushes to clear their online carts\, Library invites all faculty and students to replace shopping discounts with the joy of reading and celebrate this season with rational consumption! The Library is launching a flash event titled “Place an Order Today? No\, Borrow a Book Instead!”\, held in conjunction with National Central Library’s Traveling Exhibition “Crossing National Borders – Exhibition of Foreign Relations Posters from the Historical Collection” at Taoyuan Campus. Together\, the two events encourage everyone to seek treasures in knowledge and discover that reading is the best deal of all. \nThis flash event\, themed #BooksAreMoreCaptivatingThanDiscounts\, will take place from November 3 (Mon) to November 7 (Fri) at both Taipei and Taoyuan Campus Libraries. Participation is simple and fun: borrow any three books\, post an Instagram or Facebook Story featuring the designated hashtag\, and show it at the counter to receive a cute hand towel (limited quantity\, while supplies last\, one per person). The event is open to all MCU faculty\, staff\, and students\, encouraging everyone to spend the shopping week surrounded by books—recharging with knowledge instead of indulging in impulsive purchases. \nMeanwhile\, Taoyuan Campus Library will host the “Crossing National Borders – Exhibition of Foreign Relations Posters from the Historical Collection” in its 2F atrium from November 3 to 14\, curated by the National Central Library. The exhibition retraces Taiwan’s international interactions since the 17th century—from the beginnings of trade during the Dutch and Spanish periods to diplomatic changes under Japanese rule—showcasing how the island became a pivotal hub in global exchange.
