Everyday Landscapes of History and the Body
\nWhen war is no longer spoken of\, does the landscape still remember? \nPhotographer Sayaka Uehara from Okinawa uses photography to gaze steadily at historical traces concealed beneath everyday life. Her lens moves through streets\, buildings\, and objects\, capturing how time quietly seeps into daily existence in the form of scars. \nBeginning with Sleeping Tree\, she has focused on the “invisible war” embedded in postwar Okinawan landscapes. After the war\, vast areas were rapidly planted with leucaena trees\, whose dense greenery seemed to erase the presence of bomb craters and ruins beneath scorched earth. \nYet in her images\, roadside guardrails\, fragmented mannequin limbs\, and weathered wall surfaces continue to leak how political decisions and historical ruptures permeate everyday perception. The landscape is no longer merely a backdrop\, but a witness bearing memory. \nIn recent years\, Uehara has turned her gaze toward Taiwan\, a place that shares similar geographical conditions and historical experiences with Okinawa. \nIn her series Green Room and Green Days\, she walks through places such as Keelung and Hualien\, identifying overlapping historical afterimages within landscapes where Japanese-era remnants intertwine with subtropical vegetation. Former military facilities now function as ice shops\, parks\, or parts of daily life; here\, the weight of history coexists with the lightness of the present. She further brings these fragments of time back into the intimate space of the “room”\, allowing past and present to quietly enter into dialogue. \nIf Uehara’s work captures time sedimented within “places”\, Miri Lin confronts how time inscribes itself upon individuals through the human body and expression. Though their subjects differ\, both artists share a core concern: tracing the accumulation of time\, and how pain transforms into signs and gestures embedded in everyday life. \nThis will be a gentle yet profound sharing. From Okinawa to Taiwan\, from landscape to body\, we invite you to step into the folds of time and listen to those subtle yet resounding echoes that emerge from the cracks of the everyday. \n \n \n報名 To apply｜https://www.accupass.com/eflow/ticket/2512150658067461050270?utm_source=Web&utm_medium=home_north&utm_campaign=accu_theme \n講者簡介 Speaker Bios \n \n上原沙也加 Sayaka Uehara \n@uehara__sayaka \n1993年出生於日本沖繩縣。 \nBorn in 1993 in Okinawa\, Japan. SUMMARY:《步入永恆：賈科梅蒂、米羅、考爾德》Special Exhibition: Stepping Into Eternity Masterpieces by Giacometti\, Miró\, and Calder
\n  \n展覽資訊 \n展覽地點:富邦美術館 臺北市信義區松高路79號(富邦美術館\,1樓水景展廳)  \n展覽時間:2025-12-24~2026-04-20 11:00-18:00 週二閉館 \n  \n“Stepping Into Eternity” showcases the iconic sculptures of three of the 20th century’s most influential artistic giants: Alberto Giacometti (1901–1966)\, Joan Miró (1893–1983)\, and Alexander Calder (1898–1976). This rare collection marks the first time many of these works are being exhibited in Taiwan. \nThe Journey of Three Masters\nIn the 1920s\, these artists arrived in Paris from Switzerland\, Spain\, and the United States\, respectively. They quickly rose to prominence within the avant-garde and Surrealist circles by boldly defying traditional figurative art. Following the outbreak of World War II\, each returned to their homeland\, where their post-war careers further deepened their exploration of form\, scale\, and space\, pushing the boundaries of what sculpture could be. \nExhibition Highlights\nFeaturing 47 masterpieces from the Fondation Maeght—one of Europe’s most prestigious modern art collections—this exhibition focuses on their post-war creative evolution: \n\n\nAlberto Giacometti: Exploring the perception of distance\, Giacometti created slender\, seemingly fragile human figures. Through minimalist forms and elongated proportions\, he captured the essence of human loneliness and existential presence within space. \n\n\nJoan Miró: Immersing himself fully in sculpture\, Miró drew inspiration from everyday and natural objects. With his whimsical imagination and unexpected combinations\, he transformed and reshaped the very appearance of reality. \n\n\nAlexander Calder: Calder continued to expand the realm of “mobiles” (kinetic sculptures) while creating increasingly massive outdoor public sculptures that energize their surroundings and awaken the viewer’s perception. \n\n\nTogether\, these three artists redefined sculpture for a new era\, engaging a broader audience and opening diverse ways to dialogue with an ever-changing world. \n\nExhibition Information\n\n\nDates: December 24\, 2025 – April 20\, 2026 \n\n\nHours: 11:00 AM – 6:00 PM (Closed on Tuesdays) \n\n\nVenue: Fubon Art Museum\, 1F Water Gallery \n\n\nAddress: No. 79\, Songgao Rd.\, Xinyi Dist.\, Taipei City

This year’s theme\, “The Brotherhood Wants Backup—Sorry\, We’re the Comm Crew” brings together the School of Communication as the “Comm Crew”\, launching a lineup of themed programs including an opening ceremony\, SNG Day\, a Communication Week evening party\, a haunted house\, game day\, and a department barbecue. The week blends theatrical flair with street-style elements\, adding an energetic and narrative-rich spirit to Christmas on campus. \nCommunication Week kicks off on December 22 (Mon) at 12:00 at the Mountain Bullring with the opening ceremony\, “Brothers Show Up for Support — A Stormy Opening Day”\, featuring a ribbon-cutting and stage performances led by the Comm Crew. The following day\, December 23 (Tue) at 12:10\, the signature SNG Day — “SNG Transmission Incoming—Trace the Clues” — will take place at the plaza in front of 7-11. Participants register in two-person teams (anchor + field reporter)\, while student association members stage dramatic scenarios. Reporters conduct on-site live coverage as anchors broadcast in-studio\, simulating real-world TV news workflows. The top three teams will receive special prizes. \nFor nighttime programming\, the Communication Week evening party\, “If You Don’t Rock at Comm Night\, Bring Your Boss to Settle It”\, kicks off at 18:30 on December 23 (Tue) in Sun Yat Sen Auditorium. Taking inspiration from gangster-style storytelling\, the night combines narrative theater and diverse performances to showcase the School of Communication’s creativity and boldness — crafting a “gangland drama stage” exclusively for Comm Week. \nOn December 24 (Wed) from 12:10 to 13:00\, “Dodge It If You Dare! Dodgeball Tournament” will bring Game Day energy to the outdoor tennis courts\, letting departmental teams test reflexes and teamwork while keeping the week’s fiery momentum alive. That evening at 18:30 on the 6th floor of Building H\, the haunted house event follows\, themed around a mix of gangland lore\, a psychiatric ward\, and clay-doll horror. Open to all students\, the maze-like narrative layers will deliver a chilling nighttime experience for those who love a scare. \nThe week concludes with a grand finale barbecue —“The Brothers Are Rolling In — Jumped in a Dark Alley by a Barbecue Crew?!”on December 26 (Fri) at 17:30 at the Mountain Bullring. Group registration is required. The event combines grilling\, performances\, and interactive games\, creating the most “Comm-style” way to cap off the festival before finals. \nThe School of Communication invites all Taipei Campus students to join the events and experience the theatrical excitement and festive heat that Communication Week brings to winter on campus. \nFor more information\, visit the association on Instagram mcu_comm.

All-Out Defense Paintball Experience
\nTo strengthen students’ awareness of outdoor safety and crisis response while deepening the values of national defense education\, the Military Training Office under Student Affairs Division — in collaboration with Department of Leisure and Recreation Management — will host “When Crisis Strikes: All-Out Defense Paintball Experience” on December 24 (Wed) from 14:00 to 15:00 at Taoyuan Campus paintball field\, with participation from the Armed Forces Recruitment Center.Through experiential learning combined with paintball sports\, the event aims to enhance students’ physical fitness and safety awareness\, foster adventure and risk-taking spirit\, and encourage young participants to learn about national defense and embrace civil preparedness. The event is free of charge\, and students are welcome to sign up and participate. \nDepartment of Leisure and Recreation Management has long been committed to cultivating professional talent for leisure event planning\, recreation space development\, sports and outdoor activity management. The department regularly introduces coaching resources in paintball\, tree climbing\, canoeing\, and fitness to strengthen practical skills. It has also held multiple “paintball micro-credit” courses\, which cover marker disassembly and assembly\, air-tank filling\, safety regulations\, instructional techniques\, and particularly emphasize emergency handling and crisis response\, allowing students to safely and fully experience the educational value of paintball sports. The department also guides students in obtaining professional certifications\, putting the spirit of hands-on national defense education into practice. \nBy integrating paintball training into All-Out Defense Education\, the program deepens learning through real-world simulation\, forming a model that is both educational and highly engaging — and has become a key reference activity for national defense promotion among schools and institutions across Taiwan. \nAmong the achievements\, Ming Chuan junior student Chou Ting-Yu has earned both Class C coaching and referee licenses issued by the Chinese Taipei Paintball Sports Association over the past two years. Chou was also invited on December 16–17 to serve as a field referee at the “National Defense Education and Anti-Drug Paintball Challenge for Secondary Schools” hosted by the New Taipei City Education Department at the Banshu Paintball and Rock-Climbing Sports Center. The challenge adopted team-battle formats and incorporated anti-drug advocacy\, helping students build teamwork\, self-protection awareness\, and enthusiasm — while reinforcing recognition of national defense and social responsibility.

\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n2024 Overseas Youth Vocational Training School of Overseas Community Affairs Council (OCAC) presents the MCU Digital Media Design Graduation Exhibition “Zoom 1000%”\, held from December 15–19 in the atrium of Design Building on Taoyuan Campus.A total of 25 international students from Malaysia\, Myanmar\, and Indonesia have successfully completed their studies and will showcase seven works\, including 2D animation\, 3D animation\, multimedia interaction\, and video production\, demonstrating the creative power and design skills they have developed over two years of professional coursework at MCU. \nThe exhibition theme\, “Zoom 1000%”\, uses digital media design as its conceptual core. Through exaggerated spatial visuals and lively characters\, the theme symbolizes how students begin with small learning steps and continually expand\, explore\, and challenge themselves. The main visual integrates design elements such as brush strokes\, rulers\, USB drives\, and trains\, representing the flow of inspiration and the transfer of technical skills throughout the creative process. It also reflects how students from diverse cultural backgrounds stimulate one another\, embrace challenges\, and grow together on their journey of digital creation.Warm tones and soft lighting form the visual atmosphere\, conveying that design is not only the presentation of skills but also a process of infinitely “zooming in” on passion and creativity. \nExhibition director Chen Hao-Hsiang expressed gratitude: “Thank you all for turning this journey into something worth looking back on.” He shared that in the School of Design\, students spent countless days working late\, revising drafts\, getting rejected\, and starting over\, yet these difficult moments became humorous and precious memories because classmates were there to support one another. He also thanked the faculty for their strict guidance and patient mentorship\, helping every student grow stronger through repeated refinement; as well as the mutual support among classmates—borrowing equipment\, sharing resources\, assisting each other with debugging—which played a crucial role in bringing the exhibition to completion. \n“Every finished work is the result of accumulated effort. I’m truly proud to be standing with all of you at the end of this journey.”As graduation approaches\, Chen also offers his best wishes to all classmates: no matter what directions or challenges lie ahead\, he hopes they will continue creating bravely\, stay true to their original passion\, and remember every moment that brought them together to achieve this milestone at Ming Chuan. The exhibition promises outstanding works\, and all faculty and students are warmly invited to visit and enjoy.

\nStep into a British-style Christmas celebration in the historic district of Dadaocheng — a festive journey of shopping\, tastes\, and cultural connections. \nLocated in the vintage charm of Dadaocheng\, House of Story Wear Sustainable Department Store presents a Christmas feast that blends British style with local Taiwanese culture. From dazzling holiday lights to a refined British specialty market\, every corner is filled with seasonal magic and heart-warming stories. \nThe trade relationship between the UK and Taiwan began here as early as the 19th century. As one of Taipei’s earliest international ports\, Dadaocheng was a major tea-exporting hub\, attracting numerous foreign traders including British companies. \nHistorical records show that by 1872\, five British trading firms had already established themselves in Dadaocheng\, including Scottish merchant John Dodd\, who partnered with Lee Chun-sheng to take Taiwan’s tea to the world — earning the title “Father of Taiwan Tea”. \nThis was not just a trading gateway\, but also a crossroads of cultural exchange. British architecture\, trading house culture\, and tea salon influences left a lasting mark here — making Dadaocheng the perfect backdrop for a British-style Christmas event. \nBy choosing Dadaocheng as the venue for the Great British Christmas Festival\, House of Story Wear continues this legacy of cultural connection\, inviting today’s visitors to reconnect with shared memories between Taiwan and the UK through shopping\, food\, and festive experiences. \nEntering this festival means more than a shopping trip — it is a lifestyle journey. Christmas Card Exhibition
\nAs Christmas approaches\, the first-year students of “Basic Design” course in Department of Commercial Design are presenting the “MERRY XMAS Christmas Card Exhibition” from December 12 to 18 in the hallway outside M309 of Design Building on Taoyuan Campus. \nGuided by instructors Lin Chien-Hua and Chen Go-Yen\, all participating works were produced using the department’s Risograph printer in Maker Space. Through layered colors and halftone textures\, the prints create a distinctive visual language that blends avant-garde and retro aesthetics\, offering the campus a festive artistic experience. \nThrough the course\, first-year students not only learned principles of two-dimensional composition but also operated professional printing equipment firsthand. By leveraging the Risograph’s signature misregistration effect\, each Christmas card carries a one-of-a-kind handmade charm. Students moved beyond traditional red-and-green holiday palettes\, selecting freely from more than ten ink colors—including gold\, fluorescent pink\, fluorescent green\, fluorescent orange\, blue\, black\, and white. The resulting works span psychedelic\, luxurious\, and playful styles\, showcasing the experimental spirit and creative energy of Ming Chuan’s commercial design students. \nThe exhibition space outside M309 was selected to share the festive atmosphere with the campus community while highlighting the department’s “learning by doing” teaching philosophy. Through hands-on assignments\, first-year students gain early exposure to printing processes and material characteristics\, laying a solid foundation for future professional study. \nFor high school students aspiring to enter the design field\, Department of Commercial Design—known for its outstanding faculty\, advanced facilities\, and extensive practical training—offers an ideal environment for developing industry-ready skills and building a competitive portfolio.

V1.0 Turn Up Your Sensory Awareness V1.0
Why Are We Hosting This Event? \nHi! We are the Artists-co team.Over the past few years\, we’ve traveled to New York\, San Francisco\, Bali\, Thailand\, Japan\, Europe… and seen countless brands and artworks. And often\, we can’t help but feel that Taiwan is full of untapped potential. \nTaiwan has strong manufacturing capabilities and remarkable craftsmanship\, yet when it comes to building brands or creating works with a soul\, there still seems to be a gap. This is something that’s hard to teach and hard to learn—because the soul of a work comes from how a person feels the world. \nAs AI tools become more accessible\, the journey from 0 to 1 is incredibly fast; a few prompts can generate professional-looking results. But one thing tools still cannot produce is true emotional resonance—the human ability to feel. \nMany creators find themselves mastering countless tools\, staring at screens\, chasing opportunities—yet absorbing less and less real nourishment from life. \nWe’re used to “acquiring input” mostly through: learning\, working\, researching. But the real inspiration that makes a work unique—travel\, sensory experiences\, deep memories\, those sudden moments that move us—often slips by unnoticed. \nAs AI advances\, we believe the world will soon be filled with even more things that are “ordinary but standard”—professional\, clean\, polished\, flawless… yet soulless. And this sense of “professionalism” often comes from standardized frameworks within each field. \nIn such an environment\, it’s easy to feel lost:If AI can do everything\, what makes me unique? \nSo we began asking ourselves: \n\n\nWhat would life feel like if our senses were opened again? \n\n\nCan we share that spark of inspiration through an immersive experience? \n\n\nThis is why we created this event. \nIf you often feel numb in daily life\, creatively drained\, uncertain about your direction\, or seeking new inspiration—this talk may offer something meaningful. \nOver the past five years\, we’ve collaborated with international artists on exhibitions\, visual and sound translation of artworks (https://www.artists-co.com/)\, and helped many content creators build shows and online brands. \nThrough these collaborations\, we’ve observed how an artist’s sensory awareness influences their inspiration\, intuition\, curiosity\, and creativity. Their way of seeing the world is like a kaleidoscope—colors\, sounds\, air\, people\, and objects all become vivid and alive. \nWe want to share that experience with you: \n\n\nHow can we rediscover the way we feel life? \n\n\nWhat does it mean to “amplify your senses”? \n\n\nHow do artists see the world and what moves them? \n\n\nWhy can tiny moments in daily life become fuel for creativity and work? \n\n\nWe hope these insights will help you rediscover brightness in your life and depth in your creations—and open up new possibilities in your future creative journey. \nWe sincerely invite you to join this immersive talk 😊 \nThe Hidden Secrets That Elevate Work & Life Into the Realm of Art \n \n這是一場藝術活動＋沈浸式講座 \n我們把許多啟發我們的經典，濃縮成一種特別的聲音故事，\n讓大家一起進入「放大感知力」的世界！ \nThis is an art experience + immersive talk. \nWe distilled the classics that inspired us into a unique sound-based story\,inviting you into a world of amplified sensory awareness. \nThroughout history\, century-old shops\, luxury brands\, artists\, and inventors who create with soul bring us joy far beyond basic functionality. What allows them to elevate their craft into an art form? What do their daily lives look like? \nSome people possess an artist-like sensitivity\, even if they don’t work in the arts. \nBut sensory awareness cannot be taught\, and there’s no SOP.So how do we re-awaken our five senses? \nAtmospheric StorytellingA break from traditional lectures—merging visual aesthetics\, sound design\, and emotional pacing. \nLightly Tipsy MomentsA relaxing environment where you’re welcome to enjoy a drink while listening. \nFresh PerspectivesCarefully selected stories of soulful brands and glimpses into the lives of artists\, offering mind-opening insights. \n▍ Who Should Join｜誰適合參加？  \n1. \n\n\nCreators & Brand BuildersThose who produce content long-term and need fresh perspectives. \n\n\nAesthetic ExplorersPeople who enjoy experiences and exhibitions—perfect for an after-work sensory escape. \n\n\nAnyone Seeking a PauseNot just rest\, but emotional nourishment to rediscover the beauty in life. \n19:00 Doors open19:30–20:30 Main Session20:30–21:00 Tipsy Social Time \n地點 Venue｜MIRACLE X LAB（捷運南京復興站，走路2分鐘 2-minute walk from MRT Nanjing Fuxing Station） \n票價 Fee｜ \n\n早鳥票 NT$890（11/30 24:00前購票優惠）\n單人票 NT$990\n\nEarly Bird NT$890 (before 11/30 24:00)General Admission NT$990 \n發票 Invoice｜活動票卷將開立發票，於活動後開立電子發票寄送至參與者信箱。 \nElectronic invoices will be issued after the event and emailed to participants. \nPhotography and videography will take place during the event. A One-Person-One-Story Playback Theatre Workshop
\nThe English poet John Donne (1572–1631) once wrote\, “No man is an island.” \nAccording to British drama-in-education scholar J. W. Somers\, when participants learn through living through drama experiences\, they are able to empathize\, express their own ideas\, and help everyone present rediscover themselves. \nBy telling our own stories and listening to the stories of others\, people connect through resonance\, or develop mutual understanding through recognizing differences. \nOn the journey of exploring\, practicing\, reflecting on\, and studying open or polyamorous relationships\, we believe that any doubt\, struggle\, joy\, pressure\, or confusion is never faced alone. \nThis workshop invites you to join us—to share\, listen\, and witness those deeply personal yet universally resonant and healing moments. \nPlayback Theatre is a form of improvised\, community-interactive theatre. There is no set script; audience members offer their experiences and stories\, which the actors then interpret through improvisation\, creating shared moments that echo one life story after another. \nThis workshop includes an introduction to key concepts\, warm-up interactions\, Playback Theatre activities\, post-performance discussion\, and Q&A. It is not merely a performance to watch. Don’t worry—you won’t be required to perform. However\, please come prepared to move your body\, engage your mind\, and open your senses. \n\n時間：2025年12月7日（日）下午1點30分至4點40分\n地點：台北偶戲館3樓排練室（近捷運南京三民站）\n帶領者：拆框工作坊、一一擬爾劇團\n適合對象：探索、實踐、思考、研究開放式／多重伴侶關係的任何人\n招收人數：45人\n報名費用：NT$600（將開立協會收據）\n\nTime: Sunday\, December 7\, 2025\, 13:30 – 16:40Venue: 3F Rehearsal Room\, Puppetry Art Center of Taipei (near MRT Nanjing Sanmin Station)Facilitators: Chai Kuang Workshop\, Even Near Playback TheatreSuitable for: Anyone exploring\, practicing\, reflecting on\, or researching open or polyamorous relationshipsCapacity: 45 participantsRegistration Fee: NT$600 (receipt issued by the association) \n報名 To apply｜https://www.accupass.com/eflow/ticket/2511130123101626271819?utm_source=Web&utm_medium=home_north&utm_campaign=accu_theme
