A Dream of Light and Flowers! Mika Ninagawa’s Largest Overseas Exhibition: "Light of the Other Side\, Shadows of this Side"
\n《彼岸之光，此岸之影》票價整理\n \nA Dream of Light and Flowers! Mika Ninagawa’s Largest Overseas Exhibition: “Light of the Other Side\, Shadows of this Side”\nLimited Engagement in Taipei\nIf you’ve ever been mesmerized by vibrant seas of flowers and dreamlike interplays of light and shadow on social media\, you are undoubtedly familiar with Mika Ninagawa. A master of contemporary Japanese art\, her bold colors and unique visual language—known as “Ninagawa Aesthetics”—have taken the world by storm\, spanning photography\, film\, fashion\, and immersive spatial installations. \nThe Largest Overseas Solo Exhibition to Date\nEarlier this year\, her exhibition in Kyoto\, “Mika Ninagawa with EiM: Light of the Other Side\, Shadows of this Side\,” attracted over 250\,000 visitors in just two months. Now\, the exhibition makes its overseas debut in Taipei! Opening next January at Huashan 1914 Creative Park\, this marks Ninagawa’s return to Taipei after 10 years and stands as her most ambitious overseas project to date. \nIs it a Dream or Reality?\nBuilding on the acclaim of the Kyoto show\, Ninagawa has collaborated with the creative tech team EiM (Eternity in a Moment) to craft an unprecedented immersive experience. The exhibition explores the intersections of light and shadow\, life and death\, and reality and dreams. It transcends traditional photography by blending images\, 3D installations\, and digital technology into a fluid\, ethereal sanctuary. \nCapturing the Secret Beauty of Taipei\nTrue to her philosophy\, Ninagawa insists on authentic photography\, capturing the fleeting beauty of city corners and natural light rather than relying on computer-generated imagery (CGI). Excitingly\, the Taipei stop will feature exclusive local elements\, weaving the story of this city into a one-of-a-kind narrative. \nEight Worlds Blooming Simultaneously\nStep inside and experience eight distinct realms: \n\n\n“Breath of Life”: Feel the resonance between the city and yourself through shimmering urban waterscapes. \n\n\n“Blooming Emotions”: Awaken hidden feelings amidst a boundless sea of flowers. \n\n\n“Liberation and Obsession”: Confront inner struggles and raw passion. \n\n\n“Dream of the Abyss”: An endless 720-degree LED landscape where cherry blossoms\, fireworks\, and the sea swirl together in a mirrored幻境 (phantasmagoria). \n\n\n“Whispers of Light\, Dreams of Color”: A “breathing rainbow world” featuring over 2\,000 crystal strands. As you enter\, butterflies\, flowers\, and hearts shimmer through refracted light\, evoking a kaleidoscope of childhood memories. \n\n\n🎟️ Mika Ninagawa with EiM: Ticketing Information\n1. Special Exhibition: Animal Companions
\n展覽資訊 \n展覽期間:2026-01-17~2026-04-06 9:00-17:00 \n活動地點:臺北市士林區至善路二段221號(國立故宮博物院) 第一展覽館 210室 \n  \nSpecial Exhibition: Animal Companions\nExploring the Bonds Between Humans and Animals through Ancient Art \nThe relationship between humans and animals has always been an inseparable theme in art and literature. The special exhibition “Animal Companions” invites you to explore the diverse roles and emotions captured by artists throughout history. From simple domestic ties to deep spiritual connections\, this collection reveals the many facets of our interaction with the animal kingdom. \nExhibition Themes\n\n\nSymbols of Fortune & Faith: Animals often appear as auspicious symbols or divine pets of deities\, embodying human aspirations for luck\, prosperity\, and the supernatural. \n\n\nReflections of Social Status: From majestic steeds that display wealth and power to the humble donkeys accompanying scholars in their simple\, virtuous lives\, animals serve as vivid portraits of their owners’ identities and social standing. \n\n\nHeartfelt Interactions: The most touching part of the exhibition lies in the genuine emotional bonds: a cowherd playing with his water buffalo\, a groom and his horse huddling together against a gale\, or a cherished house cat in a lady’s private chamber. These works capture a wordless tacit understanding\, showing how animals evolved from laborers into beloved friends. \n\n\nA Vision of an “Ideal Home”\nWhether it is chicks strolling in a farmhouse courtyard\, a curious puppy greeting visitors in a peach-blossom utopia\, or horses galloping across vast grasslands—animals are indispensable companions in the human quest for an “ideal home.” We hope this exhibition allows you to rediscover and cherish the beautiful\, symbiotic bond we share with our animal companions. \n\nExhibition Information\n\n\nDates: January 17\, 2026 – April 6\, 2026 \n\n\nHours: 09:00 AM – 05:00 PM \n\n\nVenue: National Palace Museum\, Gallery 210\, Exhibition Building I \n\n\nAddress: No. 221\, Sec. 2\, Zhishan Rd.\, Shilin Dist.\, Taipei City

Lanting Obsession: Nine Historical Figures Infatuated with the Lanting Preface
\n  \n\n\n\n項目 (Item)\n資訊 (Information)\n\n\n\n\n展覽名稱\n蘭亭癖——九位醉心〈蘭亭序〉的帝王、權臣與文人雅士\n\n\nEnglish Title\nLanting Obsession: Nine Historical Figures Infatuated with the Lanting Preface\n\n\n展覽日期 (Dates)\n2026/01/16 – 2026/04/06\n\n\n展覽地點 (Location)\n國立故宮博物院 北部院區 正館 212 陳列室 (Room 212\, Main Building\, NPM Northern Branch)\n\n\n門票 (Admission)\n需購買故宮門票入場 (Standard NPM museum ticket)\n\n\n推薦對象 (Target)\n對書法、藝術史、文學有興趣之學生\n\n\n\n  \n“The Lanting Preface (Orchid Pavilion Preface) has long been revered as the ‘Number One Running Script’ in the world. Since the Tang Dynasty\, it has served as the definitive model for learners and calligraphers alike. Legend has it that the original manuscript\, prized and adored by Emperor Taizong of Tang (598–649)\, was buried with him in the Zhaoling Mausoleum and has never been seen since. Furthermore\, the tale that Wang Xizhi (303–361) attempted to rewrite it ‘hundreds of times after sobering up\, yet none could match the original’ likely contributed to its enduring popularity and status as a timeless masterpiece. \nThroughout Chinese history\, there have been countless devotees infatuated with the Lanting Preface. This exhibition focuses on nine prominent calligraphers and collectors—ranging from emperors and powerful ministers to refined scholars—spanning nearly a millennium. What they shared was an extraordinary emotional attachment and obsession with the Lanting Preface\, expressed through their collecting of rubbings\, the creation of calligraphic copies\, and the composition of poetic tributes. Weng Fanggang (1733–1818)\, a renowned epigraphist of the Qing Dynasty\, termed this unique aesthetic and cultural trend ‘Lanting Obsession’ (Lanting Pi). \nAre you also an admirer of the Lanting Preface?” \n“The ‘Lanting Obsession’ exhibition invites you into the most legendary chapter of Chinese calligraphy history. From the mysterious disappearance of the original Lanting Preface to the centuries of fascination by emperors and scholars\, this exhibition reveals calligraphy as more than just writing—it is a lifelong passion that has spanned generations. It’s a feast of history\, aesthetics\, and cultural power\, and we highly encourage you to explore it and experience the allure of the ‘Number One Running Script’ firsthand.” \n\n\n\nFeature\nDetails\n\n\n\n\nThe Legend\nThe Lanting Preface is considered the “Number One Running Script” in Chinese calligraphy history.\n\n\nThe Obsession\nThe exhibition focuses on nine historical figures (emperors\, scholars\, officials) and their lifelong obsession with copying and collecting this masterpiece.\n\n\nWhy Visit\nIt provides a deep dive into how calligraphy was used not just for writing\, but as a status symbol and a core element of cultural identity throughout history.\n\n\nPro-tip\nThe exhibition includes rare pieces like the letter from Emperor Gaozong of the Song Dynasty to Yue Fei\, showing the direct influence of the Lanting Preface on his writing style.\n\n\n\n

In the vast current of twentieth-century art\, Picasso burned like an undying flame—relentlessly driven by creation and exploration\, boldly breaking conventions and opening new artistic horizons. Every work he produced was a profound question posed to both himself and his era. From the solitude of the Blue Period to the tenderness of the Rose Period\, from the revolutionary vision of Cubism to the love and inspiration drawn from seven muses\, the exhibition reveals the wellspring where art and inspiration intertwine. \nFive Exhibition Highlights \n\n\nA powerful reimagining of Guernica through light and sound\, reconstructing the lament of war and humanity’s anguished cry \n\n\nThe inspiration of seven muses\, unveiling the intersection of Picasso’s emotional life and artistic creation \n\n\nTaiwan’s first immersive Picasso light-and-shadow experience\, allowing visitors to step into the canvas and feel the flow of color and emotion \n\n\nHigh-quality recreations of iconic works\, tracing Picasso’s artistic evolution from the Blue and Rose periods to Cubism\, and witnessing his creative force amid historical change \n\n\nA “Picasso You Can Understand” exhibition—through stories\, visuals\, and emotion\, guiding audiences to understand art and\, in turn\, see themselves \n\n\n序區｜你所不知道的畢卡索 \n透過畢卡索的名言與逸聞，觀眾將走進他鮮為人知的世界。 \nIntroductory Zone | The Picasso You Didn’t Know \nThrough Picasso’s quotes and anecdotes\, visitors enter a lesser-known world of the artist. From moments of daily life to fragments of creation\, this section reveals his misunderstood humor\, persistence\, and inner contradictions. It is the gateway into Picasso’s inner world. \nZone 1 | An Artistic Pioneer Amid the Tides of History \nFollowing a chronological path\, this zone traces the growth of a young prodigy amid the upheavals of the twentieth century. From his early artistic awakening to his studies and explorations in Barcelona and Paris\, each step is intertwined with war\, politics\, and social change. Every image and story reminds us that art is not merely self-expression—it can challenge the world and reshape history. \nZone 2 | The Picasso Gallery: Deconstruction and Reconstruction \nThis zone recreates Picasso’s classic works: the whispered solitude of blue\, the flowing tenderness of pink; Cubism challenges your vision\, while postwar reflections wait in quiet contemplation. Lines leap\, forms reassemble\, colors invert—each stroke carries risk and reflection\, drawing visitors into Picasso’s painted universe. \nZone 3 | Guernica: The Cry of War \nDedicated to Picasso’s monumental anti-war masterpiece Guernica\, this space uses large-scale projections\, preparatory sketches\, and sensory experiences to convey the painting’s pain and power. Visitors are guided to understand its historical background and artistic language\, exploring how art becomes an eternal voice against war and a call for peace. \nZone 4 | Eternal Picasso \nA 360-degree immersive theater pays tribute to Picasso through image\, sound\, and color. Surrounded by flowing light and shadow\, visitors experience the rhythm of form and color\, and feel the emotional tension behind creation. From youth to old age\, this zone presents his reflections on identity\, lived experience\, and artistic pursuit. Visitors witness how the artist projected himself onto the canvas\, engaging in a subtle dialogue between creation and self. \nZone 6 | The Muses Within the Paintings \nSeven women who profoundly influenced Picasso—from Fernande to Jacqueline—were both beloved companions and sources of inspiration. Through photographs\, objects\, and artworks\, this zone illustrates how they shaped different periods of his life and art.
\n主辦  ：財團法人二結王公廟 \n協辦  ：康德文化創意工作室 \n \n紀念衣服 \n \n紀念毛巾 \n \n紀念球帽 \nEvent Overview: 2026 Cultural Festival Tour\nExperience one of Taiwan’s most magnificent temple fair traditions in Yilan. This event offers a rare opportunity to witness the powerful ritual of searching for the medium and the grand fire-walking ceremony. \n\n\nEvent Name: 「Yi-Si-Nian Er-Jie-Wang-Gong」 Cultural Festival – Guided Tour Series \n\n\nDate: Saturday\, January 3\, 2026 \n\n\nTime: 12:00 PM – 3:00 PM \n\n\nMeeting Point: Event Service Desk\, Dragon-side Wing (Left Wing)\, 「Er-Jie-Wang-Gong」 Temple \n\n Point: No. 88\, Jiujie 2nd Rd.\, Wujie Township\, Yilan County 268\n\n\n\n\nTime\nActivity\nDescription\n\n\n\n\n12:00 – 13:00\nCheck-in\nEnjoy 「Ping-An-Zhou」 (Peace Porridge)\n\n\n13:00 – 15:00\nGuided Tour\n「Lve-Tong-Ji」 & 「Tiao-Guo-Huo」 (Fire-walking)\n\n\n\nEvent Highlights\nThis annual festival celebrates the birthday of 「Wang-Gong」 with a grand fire-walking ritual. Witness the powerful movement of the sedan chairs during the 「Lve-Tong-Ji」 ceremony as they prepare to cross over 10\,000 pounds of glowing charcoal—a display of divine authority that stands as one of Taiwan’s most spectacular cultural events. \n\n\nTaste of Tradition: Before the ceremony begins\, feel the heat of the charcoal stacks while enjoying a bowl of warm 「Ping-An-Zhou」. It is a local gesture of hospitality and warmth during the Yilan winter. \n\n\nThe Search for the Medium: Follow the sedan chair teams as they head out to find the 「Tong-Ji」 (spirit medium) chosen by 「Wang-Gong」 for this year. This is a unique and fascinating custom of the 「Er-Jie-Wang-Gong」 Temple. Every year\, the deity uses the sedan chairs to locate the medium—who may be hiding in a private home\, a shop\, or even a forest—to demonstrate divine power and ensure the fire-walking ritual proceeds safely. \n\n\nJoin the Experience: In collaboration with the 「Er-Jie-Wang-Gong」 Temple\, we are launching this special tour for 100 participants to follow the deity in the search for the medium. We welcome everyone to join us for this immersive cultural journey. \n\n\nRegistration Link: Accupass Event Page

Everyday Landscapes of History and the Body
\nWhen war is no longer spoken of\, does the landscape still remember? \nPhotographer Sayaka Uehara from Okinawa uses photography to gaze steadily at historical traces concealed beneath everyday life. Her lens moves through streets\, buildings\, and objects\, capturing how time quietly seeps into daily existence in the form of scars. \nBeginning with Sleeping Tree\, she has focused on the “invisible war” embedded in postwar Okinawan landscapes. After the war\, vast areas were rapidly planted with leucaena trees\, whose dense greenery seemed to erase the presence of bomb craters and ruins beneath scorched earth. \nYet in her images\, roadside guardrails\, fragmented mannequin limbs\, and weathered wall surfaces continue to leak how political decisions and historical ruptures permeate everyday perception. The landscape is no longer merely a backdrop\, but a witness bearing memory. \nIn recent years\, Uehara has turned her gaze toward Taiwan\, a place that shares similar geographical conditions and historical experiences with Okinawa. \nIn her series Green Room and Green Days\, she walks through places such as Keelung and Hualien\, identifying overlapping historical afterimages within landscapes where Japanese-era remnants intertwine with subtropical vegetation. Former military facilities now function as ice shops\, parks\, or parts of daily life; here\, the weight of history coexists with the lightness of the present. She further brings these fragments of time back into the intimate space of the “room”\, allowing past and present to quietly enter into dialogue. \nIf Uehara’s work captures time sedimented within “places”\, Miri Lin confronts how time inscribes itself upon individuals through the human body and expression. Though their subjects differ\, both artists share a core concern: tracing the accumulation of time\, and how pain transforms into signs and gestures embedded in everyday life. \nThis will be a gentle yet profound sharing. From Okinawa to Taiwan\, from landscape to body\, we invite you to step into the folds of time and listen to those subtle yet resounding echoes that emerge from the cracks of the everyday. \n \n \n報名 To apply｜https://www.accupass.com/eflow/ticket/2512150658067461050270?utm_source=Web&utm_medium=home_north&utm_campaign=accu_theme \n講者簡介 Speaker Bios \n \n上原沙也加 Sayaka Uehara \n@uehara__sayaka \n1993年出生於日本沖繩縣。 \nBorn in 1993 in Okinawa\, Japan. SUMMARY:《步入永恆：賈科梅蒂、米羅、考爾德》Special Exhibition: Stepping Into Eternity Masterpieces by Giacometti\, Miró\, and Calder
\n  \n展覽資訊 \n展覽地點:富邦美術館 臺北市信義區松高路79號(富邦美術館\,1樓水景展廳)  \n展覽時間:2025-12-24~2026-04-20 11:00-18:00 週二閉館 \n  \n“Stepping Into Eternity” showcases the iconic sculptures of three of the 20th century’s most influential artistic giants: Alberto Giacometti (1901–1966)\, Joan Miró (1893–1983)\, and Alexander Calder (1898–1976). This rare collection marks the first time many of these works are being exhibited in Taiwan. \nThe Journey of Three Masters\nIn the 1920s\, these artists arrived in Paris from Switzerland\, Spain\, and the United States\, respectively. They quickly rose to prominence within the avant-garde and Surrealist circles by boldly defying traditional figurative art. Following the outbreak of World War II\, each returned to their homeland\, where their post-war careers further deepened their exploration of form\, scale\, and space\, pushing the boundaries of what sculpture could be. \nExhibition Highlights\nFeaturing 47 masterpieces from the Fondation Maeght—one of Europe’s most prestigious modern art collections—this exhibition focuses on their post-war creative evolution: \n\n\nAlberto Giacometti: Exploring the perception of distance\, Giacometti created slender\, seemingly fragile human figures. Through minimalist forms and elongated proportions\, he captured the essence of human loneliness and existential presence within space. \n\n\nJoan Miró: Immersing himself fully in sculpture\, Miró drew inspiration from everyday and natural objects. With his whimsical imagination and unexpected combinations\, he transformed and reshaped the very appearance of reality. \n\n\nAlexander Calder: Calder continued to expand the realm of “mobiles” (kinetic sculptures) while creating increasingly massive outdoor public sculptures that energize their surroundings and awaken the viewer’s perception. \n\n\nTogether\, these three artists redefined sculpture for a new era\, engaging a broader audience and opening diverse ways to dialogue with an ever-changing world. \n\nExhibition Information\n\n\nDates: December 24\, 2025 – April 20\, 2026 \n\n\nHours: 11:00 AM – 6:00 PM (Closed on Tuesdays) \n\n\nVenue: Fubon Art Museum\, 1F Water Gallery \n\n\nAddress: No. 79\, Songgao Rd.\, Xinyi Dist.\, Taipei City

This year’s theme\, “The Brotherhood Wants Backup—Sorry\, We’re the Comm Crew” brings together the School of Communication as the “Comm Crew”\, launching a lineup of themed programs including an opening ceremony\, SNG Day\, a Communication Week evening party\, a haunted house\, game day\, and a department barbecue. The week blends theatrical flair with street-style elements\, adding an energetic and narrative-rich spirit to Christmas on campus. \nCommunication Week kicks off on December 22 (Mon) at 12:00 at the Mountain Bullring with the opening ceremony\, “Brothers Show Up for Support — A Stormy Opening Day”\, featuring a ribbon-cutting and stage performances led by the Comm Crew. The following day\, December 23 (Tue) at 12:10\, the signature SNG Day — “SNG Transmission Incoming—Trace the Clues” — will take place at the plaza in front of 7-11. Participants register in two-person teams (anchor + field reporter)\, while student association members stage dramatic scenarios. Reporters conduct on-site live coverage as anchors broadcast in-studio\, simulating real-world TV news workflows. The top three teams will receive special prizes. \nFor nighttime programming\, the Communication Week evening party\, “If You Don’t Rock at Comm Night\, Bring Your Boss to Settle It”\, kicks off at 18:30 on December 23 (Tue) in Sun Yat Sen Auditorium. The department also guides students in obtaining professional certifications\, putting the spirit of hands-on national defense education into practice. \nBy integrating paintball training into All-Out Defense Education\, the program deepens learning through real-world simulation\, forming a model that is both educational and highly engaging — and has become a key reference activity for national defense promotion among schools and institutions across Taiwan. \nAmong the achievements\, Ming Chuan junior student Chou Ting-Yu has earned both Class C coaching and referee licenses issued by the Chinese Taipei Paintball Sports Association over the past two years. Chou was also invited on December 16–17 to serve as a field referee at the “National Defense Education and Anti-Drug Paintball Challenge for Secondary Schools” hosted by the New Taipei City Education Department at the Banshu Paintball and Rock-Climbing Sports Center. The challenge adopted team-battle formats and incorporated anti-drug advocacy\, helping students build teamwork\, self-protection awareness\, and enthusiasm — while reinforcing recognition of national defense and social responsibility.

\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n2024 Overseas Youth Vocational Training School of Overseas Community Affairs Council (OCAC) presents the MCU Digital Media Design Graduation Exhibition “Zoom 1000%”\, held from December 15–19 in the atrium of Design Building on Taoyuan Campus.A total of 25 international students from Malaysia\, Myanmar\, and Indonesia have successfully completed their studies and will showcase seven works\, including 2D animation\, 3D animation\, multimedia interaction\, and video production\, demonstrating the creative power and design skills they have developed over two years of professional coursework at MCU. \nThe exhibition theme\, “Zoom 1000%”\, uses digital media design as its conceptual core. Through exaggerated spatial visuals and lively characters\, the theme symbolizes how students begin with small learning steps and continually expand\, explore\, and challenge themselves. The main visual integrates design elements such as brush strokes\, rulers\, USB drives\, and trains\, representing the flow of inspiration and the transfer of technical skills throughout the creative process. It also reflects how students from diverse cultural backgrounds stimulate one another\, embrace challenges\, and grow together on their journey of digital creation.Warm tones and soft lighting form the visual atmosphere\, conveying that design is not only the presentation of skills but also a process of infinitely “zooming in” on passion and creativity. \nExhibition director Chen Hao-Hsiang expressed gratitude: “Thank you all for turning this journey into something worth looking back on.” He shared that in the School of Design\, students spent countless days working late\, revising drafts\, getting rejected\, and starting over\, yet these difficult moments became humorous and precious memories because classmates were there to support one another. He also thanked the faculty for their strict guidance and patient mentorship\, helping every student grow stronger through repeated refinement; as well as the mutual support among classmates—borrowing equipment\, sharing resources\, assisting each other with debugging—which played a crucial role in bringing the exhibition to completion. \n“Every finished work is the result of accumulated effort. I’m truly proud to be standing with all of you at the end of this journey.”As graduation approaches\, Chen also offers his best wishes to all classmates: no matter what directions or challenges lie ahead\, he hopes they will continue creating bravely\, stay true to their original passion\, and remember every moment that brought them together to achieve this milestone at Ming Chuan. The exhibition promises outstanding works\, and all faculty and students are warmly invited to visit and enjoy.
