Nestled amidst the tea trees\, 全興茶園 in Pinglin has been rooted for decades\, ensuring quality from tea cultivation to sales. To promote their family’s tea leaves\, the younger generation of the family has embarked on entrepreneurship\, establishing the “Meet in Tea” brand of tea egg yolk pastry. Chef Auntie Xiang incorporates tea into her dishes\, using freshly pressed oil from their own Pouchong tea seeds to stir-fry their home-raised free-range chicken. From April 22 to May 3\, the “World Book Day @Book Fair of 2023” will be held at the libraries of both Taipei and Taoyuan campuses. The exhibition will showcase the best books selected by Openbook Reading Magazine for the year 2023\, as well as several nominated and award-winning books from 2023\, along with the best-selling books from Eslite and Books.com.tw online bookstores. The themes include “Annual Chinese Creations”\, “Annual Translations” and “Annual Lifestyle Books”. Everyone is welcome to join this feast of good books. \nFurthermore\, in collaboration with the Guishan Branch of Taoyuan Public Library\, the Taoyuan campus library is organizing two themed lectures as part of the “Multiculturalism and World Reading Festival” event\, aiming to promote lifelong learning and reading habits among teachers and students\, making learning and reading a natural part of life. \nThe first lecture\, titled “Creating Your Own Original IP Story: How Students Become Product Developers”\, will be conducted by 18Light (Chen Kun-yuan) on April 23 from 14:00 to 16:00. Apart from sharing the courage and challenges of starting from scratch\, the speaker will also discuss the elements of successful entrepreneurship and pass on their experiences to the participants\, providing inspiration. The second lecture\, scheduled for May 16 from 14:00 to 16:00\, will feature Lecturer Cai Yi-ning speaking on gender-related topics\, titled “Gender Unlimited – Multiculturalism and Multifaceted Love”\, and explaining the impact of technology on gender equality and how to handle sexual harassment. \nTo encourage active participation in the lectures\, attendees will have the chance to receive Ferrero Rocher chocolates. The on-campus exhibition will be held from April 29 to May 2 at the Design Building Atrium in Taoyuan Campus\, while the off-campus exhibition will take place from May 24 to 27 at Booth E-16 in Nangang Exhibition Center 2 during the YODEX”. \nThe theme of this year’s exhibition\, “VIRTUALAND”\, represents an infinite universe of imagination\, containing countless unique worlds\, each intertwined with its own distinct story. The main visual concept is based on a space-time tunnel\, with the exhibition’s mascots Noah and Uma leading visitors to a world expo. It conveys the idea that in a digital environment\, every student in the animation program is a creator\, able to freely depict the value of their stories\, resulting in a diverse range of works. \nAnimation and Comic Creative Industries Design Program is the first interdisciplinary animation program in the country\, emphasizing integration of learning and application and international alignment. The exhibition features 19 works\, including animations\, comics\, and digital interactive games\, showcasing the potential of animation design in commercial applications with innovative technology. By combining the development trends and current situations of leisure industries\, healthcare businesses\, long-term care\, and speech therapy and hearing impairment\, the competition explores the interdisciplinary possibilities of health promotion\, management methods\, information technology\, speech therapy\, and long-term care. It aims to shape innovative concepts of holistic health into tangible entrepreneurial projects. Continuing the spirit of the “2022 National Health Technology Innovation and Creativity Competition”\, the event aims to create a health-promoting society through the application of smart technology. By integrating students’ creative ideas with the demands of healthcare and technological resources\, the competition seeks to enhance students’ keen observation of healthcare needs in an aging society\, break traditional thinking frameworks\, foster teamwork\, and entrepreneurial spirit\, and create a domestically friendly environment for intelligent healthcare. \n\nOrganizer\n\nNational Taipei University of Nursing Health Sciences\, College of Health Technology \n\nEligibility\n\nParticipants are students from national and private technical colleges and universities (master’s and doctoral programs\, undergraduate programs\, fifth-year vocational programs\, and second-year technical programs). Each team must consist of 3 to 5 members\, with each member participating in only one team. Each team must designate a team leader as the contact person. Each team must have at least one faculty member as an advisor\, with a maximum of two advisors\, not counted as part of the team. \n\nCompetition Theme\n\nIn response to the aging population trend\, and based on interdisciplinary collaboration in technology applications\, the competition focuses on health promotion\, healthcare business\, long-term care\, and speech therapy and hearing impairment. With smart technology as the core\, based on the framework of IoT\, smart technology\, and big data analysis\, participants are encouraged to devise innovative smart technology proposals that meet the needs of an aging society. The content of the innovative proposals can be presented in different forms such as business models\, software applications\, or products. \n\nCompetition Format\n\nThe 2024 National Health Technology Innovation and Creativity Competition consists of two stages: preliminary and final. The preliminary stage emphasizes written review\, while the final stage involves on-site presentations and Q&A sessions. Details regarding presentation and Q&A formats will be announced separately. Other regulations are as follows: \n(1) Participating teams must first provide a project proposal abstract of no more than 1000 words. The abstract must be uploaded and the registration procedure completed on the official website of the event (https://hticic.ntunhs.edu.tw/index.html) by 10:00 on May 13\, 2024 (Monday). Late submissions or registration forms/PPT files that do not comply with the format will not be accepted and will be considered as forfeiting the competition. \n(2) The organizer will announce the teams advancing to the final stage by 17:00 on May 31\, 2024 (Friday). Finalist teams must upload complete project proposals and PPT presentation files to the official website by 14:30 on June 12\, 2024 (Wednesday). DESCRIPTION:商設藝廊4/22-5/29展出\n產學成果&王開立、王瓊芬老師創作聯展\n歡迎全校師生蒞臨設計大樓3樓商設藝廊欣賞指教。 \nExhibition at Gallery from April 22 to May 29\nAchievements of Industry-university Cooperation & Dual Solo Exhibitions of Creation by Wang Kai-Li and Wang Chiung-Fen\nWelcome all faculty and students to visit and provide feedback at the 3rd floor  Gallery in Design Building. \n▍001 銘傳商設系第一商行-大溪歷史街區共同設計計畫 Daxi Historic District Co-Design Project\n王開立/張棣楨/吳家榮/蔡子堯 Wang Kai-li/Zhang Di-zhen/Wu Jia-rong/Cai Zi-yao\n第一商行位於大溪中央路，雖不起眼，卻保留有大溪這個曾經繁華一時的老市鎮許多故事與居民的生活習慣，是來大溪值得一訪特色店家。本次計劃由銘傳大學團隊進行形象再造，由王開立與張棣楨、吳家榮與蔡子堯共四人組成團隊，投入一年的時間，訪談調查第一商行，將其故事與形象重新設計，從形象、展示、文宣與商品的規劃，找回應有的精彩與生命力。展覽展示有設計成果與執行過程，是在地方耕耘、產官學交流互動的寶貴經驗。 \nLocated on Zhongyang Road in Daxi\, Daxi the First may seem unremarkable\, yet it holds many stories and the daily life habits of residents\, making it a unique destination worth visiting in Daxi’s once prosperous old town. This project\, undertaken by a team from Ming Chuan University\, including Wang Kai-li\, Zhang Di-zhen\, Wu Jia-rong\, and Cai Zi-yao\, spent a year redesigning the store’s image. Through interviews and research\, they reimagined its story and image\, reviving its vitality through redesigning its image\, exhibition\, promotional materials\, and product planning. DESCRIPTION:活動流程 Activity Itinerary \n09:30 十分火車站集合 Gather at Shifen Train Station \n新平溪煤礦博物園區 Taiwan Coal Mine Museum\n位於新北市平溪區十分寮的新北市新平溪煤礦博物館，前身為「新平溪煤礦公司」，從1965年開坑，至1997年封坑停止開採而走入歷史。透過新平溪煤礦董事長龔詠滄先生積極保留開採權，並設立煤礦博物館，這裡成為一處保留台灣煤礦業相關文物、史料、器具的園區，保存了大量的煤礦場域與史料。\n館內特別模擬開採坑道，依照實際的比例條件建造，真實呈現煤脈與坑道的支撐結構，從煤炭的形成、分布、開採到運送，讓遊客能有身臨其境的感受。除此之外，碩果僅存的新平溪煤礦獨眼小火車是台灣第一部電氣化運煤火車，亦是台灣目前僅有在行進的小火車，它是鐵道迷的最愛，也是最具歷史價值的展品之一。 \nLocated in Shifenliao\, Pingxi District\, New Taipei City\, the Taiwan Coal Mine Museum was formerly the Xi Pin Xi Coalmine Co.\, Ltd. It was operational from 1965 until it ceased operations and closed in 1997. Through the active preservation efforts of Mr. Gong Yong-cang\, the chairman of Xi Pin Xi Coalmine Co.\, the mining rights were retained\, and a coal mine museum was established. This area preserves a large number of relics\, historical materials\, and tools related to Taiwan’s coal industry. The museum specially simulates mining tunnels\, constructed according to actual proportions\, to realistically present the support structures of coal veins and tunnels. From the formation\, distribution\, mining\, to transportation of coal\, visitors can experience it firsthand. Additionally\, the rare Xi Ping Xi Coalmine monocular train is Taiwan’s first electrified coal transportation train and one of the few operating small trains in Taiwan. It is a favorite among railway enthusiasts and one of the most historically valuable exhibits. \n猴硐的前世與今生－新北市礦工紀念館（原瑞三鑛業本鑛礦工浴室）、猴硐礦工文史館 The Past and Present of Houtong – Houtong Cultural and Historical Museum\n猴硐在成為貓村之前，它是台灣第一大煤礦公司－瑞三鑛業公司所在地。全盛時期每日都有超過500名礦工進坑，直到1990年停業。當時的礦工在退休後收集曾經的工作器具和文史資料，企圖把在地歷史傳承下去，讓更多人知道在悲情後面，有著更多的是真實和韌性。 \nBefore becoming Houtong Cat Village\, Houtong was the site of Taiwan’s largest coal mining company\, Ruisan Mining Company Social Welfare Foundation. During its heyday\, over 500 miners entered the mine daily until it ceased operations in 1990. Retired miners collected their former work tools and historical materials in an attempt to pass on the local history and heritage\, so that more people would know that behind the tragedy\, there is more truth and resilience. \n猴硐礦坑休閒園區搭礦車 Houtong Leisure Park – Mine Cart Ride\n猴硐礦坑休閒園區原為瑞三鑛業舊址。當時整個猴硐礦區的產量占全台七分之一，一時間猴硐成為極其熱鬧的地方，但隨著停止開採後人口大量外移、沒落以致遺址荒廢。為了感念前人的付出，礦工之子斥資八千萬打造礦業休閒園區。在這不只可以搭乘百年礦車小火車駛入礦道，還有手搖車、氣動鑿礦等保存50多年的採礦工具可以讓大人小孩體驗採礦的樂趣和不易。 \nHoutong Leisure Park was originally the site of the Ruisan Mining Industry. At the time\, the entire Houtong mining area accounted for one-seventh of Taiwan’s production\, making Houtong a bustling place. However\, after the cessation of mining\, the population migrated massively\, leading to the abandonment of the site. In memory of the sacrifices of the past\, the son of a miner spent 80 million to create a mining leisure park.
