Special Exhibition: Set Sail in a Shaking Era — The Life Trajectory of Chiang Wei-shui
\n「動搖世代的啟航：蔣渭水生命軌跡」特展資訊\n日期：114年08月22日〜115年08月\n開放時間：上午9時30分至下午５時30分（週一休館）\n地址：渭水驛站（臺北市大同區延平北路二段27號） \n  \nSpecial Exhibition: Set Sail in a Shaking Era — The Life Trajectory of Chiang Wei-shui\nThe Wei Shui Station\, under the Department of Cultural Affairs\, Taipei City Government\, is proud to present its latest exhibition: “Set Sail in a Shaking Era: The Life Trajectory of Chiang Wei-shui.” Curated by the Chiang Wei-shui Cultural Foundation\, this exhibition offers a profound look at the life of Taiwan’s pioneer of democratic enlightenment through the lens of a “Life River.” \nThe exhibition is inspired by Chiang Wei-shui’s own stirring words: \n\n“A shaking era is the happiest era for humanity; for only through the tremors of today can we achieve the progress of tomorrow.” \n\nMessage from the Curator\nChen Ya-chieh\, CEO of the Chiang Wei-shui Cultural Foundation\, shares that the goal is for visitors to not only learn about Chiang’s activism but also to feel his struggles\, choices\, and passion within the flow of history.
\n\n\n展覽日期： 2026/03/20 – 2026/08/30 \n\n\n開放時間： 09:00 – 17:00 (週一休館) \n\n\n展覽地點： 國立故宮博物院 第一展覽館 105\, 107 陳列室 \n\n\nHave you ever noticed that the stone lions in front of temples do not look quite the same as the real lions you see in zoos? In fact\, lions are not native to East Asia\, and what people in antiquity knew about them was based on hearsay\, fleeting glimpses\, and imagination. This gap reveals an attitude towards the natural world that combined awe with reverence: By constructing myths\, they projected unknown forces onto deities and a wide variety of ‘mythical creatures’. Over millennia\, these creatures have evolved beyond embodiments of the divine to become vessels for humanity’s hopes and blessings. Centered on the East Asian cultural sphere\, this exhibition spans from pre-Qin antiquity to the modern era and features works from ancient bronzes to everyday household objects. Presented in collaboration with Beigang Chao-Tian Temple and the National Museum of Taiwan History\, it\nreveals the richness and diversity of mythical creature culture. The exhibition is structured around four guiding questions: what do mythical creatures look like\, what status do they hold\, what special powers do they have\, and where do they appear? Drawing on classical texts\, it traces the origins and transformations of these mysterious creatures. We hope your visit will offer more than mere curiosities and new information\, that you will also come to appreciate how artists\, armed with nothing but words and oral traditions\, gave tangible form to fantastical beings. In the dawning age of AI\, this power to realize the imaginary is more precious than ever. \n\n\nExhibition Dates: March 20 – August 30\, 2026 \n\n\nOpening Hours: 09:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Closed on Mondays) \n\n\nVenue: National Palace Museum (Main Bldg\, Rooms 105 & 107) \n\n\nAddress: No. 221\, Sec. 2\, Zhishan Rd.\, Shilin Dist.\, Taipei City
