Special Exhibition: Set Sail in a Shaking Era — The Life Trajectory of Chiang Wei-shui
\n「動搖世代的啟航：蔣渭水生命軌跡」特展資訊\n日期：114年08月22日〜115年08月\n開放時間：上午9時30分至下午５時30分（週一休館）\n地址：渭水驛站（臺北市大同區延平北路二段27號） \n  \nSpecial Exhibition: Set Sail in a Shaking Era — The Life Trajectory of Chiang Wei-shui\nThe Wei Shui Station\, under the Department of Cultural Affairs\, Taipei City Government\, is proud to present its latest exhibition: “Set Sail in a Shaking Era: The Life Trajectory of Chiang Wei-shui.” Curated by the Chiang Wei-shui Cultural Foundation\, this exhibition offers a profound look at the life of Taiwan’s pioneer of democratic enlightenment through the lens of a “Life River.” \nThe exhibition is inspired by Chiang Wei-shui’s own stirring words: \n\n“A shaking era is the happiest era for humanity; for only through the tremors of today can we achieve the progress of tomorrow.” \n\nMessage from the Curator\nChen Ya-chieh\, CEO of the Chiang Wei-shui Cultural Foundation\, shares that the goal is for visitors to not only learn about Chiang’s activism but also to feel his struggles\, choices\, and passion within the flow of history. SUMMARY:Great British Christmas Festival
\nStep into a British-style Christmas celebration in the historic district of Dadaocheng — a festive journey of shopping\, tastes\, and cultural connections. \nLocated in the vintage charm of Dadaocheng\, House of Story Wear Sustainable Department Store presents a Christmas feast that blends British style with local Taiwanese culture. From dazzling holiday lights to a refined British specialty market\, every corner is filled with seasonal magic and heart-warming stories. \nThe trade relationship between the UK and Taiwan began here as early as the 19th century. As one of Taipei’s earliest international ports\, Dadaocheng was a major tea-exporting hub\, attracting numerous foreign traders including British companies. \nHistorical records show that by 1872\, five British trading firms had already established themselves in Dadaocheng\, including Scottish merchant John Dodd\, who partnered with Lee Chun-sheng to take Taiwan’s tea to the world — earning the title “Father of Taiwan Tea”. \nThis was not just a trading gateway\, but also a crossroads of cultural exchange. British architecture\, trading house culture\, and tea salon influences left a lasting mark here — making Dadaocheng the perfect backdrop for a British-style Christmas event. \nBy choosing Dadaocheng as the venue for the Great British Christmas Festival\, House of Story Wear continues this legacy of cultural connection\, inviting today’s visitors to reconnect with shared memories between Taiwan and the UK through shopping\, food\, and festive experiences. \nEntering this festival means more than a shopping trip — it is a lifestyle journey. Sip mulled wine and festive treats\, browse unique gifts from the UK\, join musical and cultural activities\, and share the warmth of the season with friends old and new. \nHouse of Story Wear 永續百貨 \n \n圖片來源：House of Story Wear 永續百貨 \nImage Source: House of Story Wear Sustainable Department Store \n🇬🇧 精選英國聖誕禮品市集 \n本次英倫聖誕嘉年華匯聚20家英國優質消費品品牌參與，從永續時尚、精緻家居、創意設計到英國餐食，每一個品牌都代表著英國在品質、創新與生活美學上的堅持與風格。 \n活動時間：11.00-19.00 \n🇬🇧 British Christmas Gift Market \nFeaturing 20 carefully selected British consumer brands\, the market brings a diverse range of products — from sustainable fashion and home goods to creative designs and British cuisine — showcasing the UK’s dedication to quality\, innovation\, and lifestyle aesthetics. \nHere\, you can discover the stories and craftsmanship behind British brands while enjoying an atmosphere reminiscent of London’s Christmas markets — a vibrant cross-cultural experience for all the senses. \n🤶🤶🤶🤶🤶🤶🤶🤶🤶🤶 \n🎁 Dec. 12–28 British Christmas Gift Shop (Free Entry) \nThe Gallery on 1F of House of Story Wear will transform into a British Christmas Gift Shop — filled with holiday warmth and UK-inspired design items\, sustainable products\, and festive exclusives.A perfect place to find meaningful Christmas gifts for loved ones\, friends\, or colleagues — where every present carries both beauty and a story of sustainability. \n⏱ Opening Hours: 11:00–19:00 (Closed on Mondays) \n🤶🤶🤶🤶🤶🤶🤶🤶🤶🤶 \n🧁 British Outdoor Food & Drink Market \nDec. 13–14 / 20–21 / 25–28(Free Entry — Pre-register to redeem a NT$100 voucher!) \nOn festival weekends and holidays\, the outdoor area features British-style food and beverage booths serving mulled wine\, British beer\, Scotch whisky\, scones\, fruitcake\, and more — bringing the flavors of London to Taipei. SUMMARY:《步入永恆：賈科梅蒂、米羅、考爾德》Special Exhibition: Stepping Into Eternity Masterpieces by Giacometti\, Miró\, and Calder
\n  \n展覽資訊 \n展覽地點:富邦美術館 臺北市信義區松高路79號(富邦美術館\,1樓水景展廳)  \n展覽時間:2025-12-24~2026-04-20 11:00-18:00 週二閉館 \n  \n“Stepping Into Eternity” showcases the iconic sculptures of three of the 20th century’s most influential artistic giants: Alberto Giacometti (1901–1966)\, Joan Miró (1893–1983)\, and Alexander Calder (1898–1976). This rare collection marks the first time many of these works are being exhibited in Taiwan. \nThe Journey of Three Masters\nIn the 1920s\, these artists arrived in Paris from Switzerland\, Spain\, and the United States\, respectively. They quickly rose to prominence within the avant-garde and Surrealist circles by boldly defying traditional figurative art. Following the outbreak of World War II\, each returned to their homeland\, where their post-war careers further deepened their exploration of form\, scale\, and space\, pushing the boundaries of what sculpture could be. \nExhibition Highlights\nFeaturing 47 masterpieces from the Fondation Maeght—one of Europe’s most prestigious modern art collections—this exhibition focuses on their post-war creative evolution: \n\n\nAlberto Giacometti: Exploring the perception of distance\, Giacometti created slender\, seemingly fragile human figures. Through minimalist forms and elongated proportions\, he captured the essence of human loneliness and existential presence within space. \n\n\nJoan Miró: Immersing himself fully in sculpture\, Miró drew inspiration from everyday and natural objects. With his whimsical imagination and unexpected combinations\, he transformed and reshaped the very appearance of reality. \n\n\nAlexander Calder: Calder continued to expand the realm of “mobiles” (kinetic sculptures) while creating increasingly massive outdoor public sculptures that energize their surroundings and awaken the viewer’s perception. \n\n\nTogether\, these three artists redefined sculpture for a new era\, engaging a broader audience and opening diverse ways to dialogue with an ever-changing world. \n\nExhibition Information\n\n\nDates: December 24\, 2025 – April 20\, 2026 \n\n\nHours: 11:00 AM – 6:00 PM (Closed on Tuesdays) \n\n\nVenue: Fubon Art Museum\, 1F Water Gallery \n\n\nAddress: No. 79\, Songgao Rd.\, Xinyi Dist.\, Taipei City

Everyday Landscapes of History and the Body
\nWhen war is no longer spoken of\, does the landscape still remember? \nPhotographer Sayaka Uehara from Okinawa uses photography to gaze steadily at historical traces concealed beneath everyday life. Her lens moves through streets\, buildings\, and objects\, capturing how time quietly seeps into daily existence in the form of scars. \nBeginning with Sleeping Tree\, she has focused on the “invisible war” embedded in postwar Okinawan landscapes. After the war\, vast areas were rapidly planted with leucaena trees\, whose dense greenery seemed to erase the presence of bomb craters and ruins beneath scorched earth. \nYet in her images\, roadside guardrails\, fragmented mannequin limbs\, and weathered wall surfaces continue to leak how political decisions and historical ruptures permeate everyday perception. The landscape is no longer merely a backdrop\, but a witness bearing memory. \nIn recent years\, Uehara has turned her gaze toward Taiwan\, a place that shares similar geographical conditions and historical experiences with Okinawa. \nIn her series Green Room and Green Days\, she walks through places such as Keelung and Hualien\, identifying overlapping historical afterimages within landscapes where Japanese-era remnants intertwine with subtropical vegetation. Former military facilities now function as ice shops\, parks\, or parts of daily life; here\, the weight of history coexists with the lightness of the present. She further brings these fragments of time back into the intimate space of the “room”\, allowing past and present to quietly enter into dialogue. \nIf Uehara’s work captures time sedimented within “places”\, Miri Lin confronts how time inscribes itself upon individuals through the human body and expression. Though their subjects differ\, both artists share a core concern: tracing the accumulation of time\, and how pain transforms into signs and gestures embedded in everyday life. \nThis will be a gentle yet profound sharing. From Okinawa to Taiwan\, from landscape to body\, we invite you to step into the folds of time and listen to those subtle yet resounding echoes that emerge from the cracks of the everyday. \n \n \n報名 To apply｜https://www.accupass.com/eflow/ticket/2512150658067461050270?utm_source=Web&utm_medium=home_north&utm_campaign=accu_theme \n講者簡介 Speaker Bios \n \n上原沙也加 Sayaka Uehara \n@uehara__sayaka \n1993年出生於日本沖繩縣。 \nBorn in 1993 in Okinawa\, Japan.
