Bump! Dancing in Encounter — A Workshop for the Visually Impaired and Sighted
\nCan we see dance without using our eyes?In this inclusive workshop where sighted and visually impaired participants dance together\, you’ll explore how to experience movement through sound\, touch and bodily perception\, challenging the visual dominance in how we imagine the world. \n──可揚與他的快樂夥伴《2047》口述影像版 \n“Dancers face all directions\, lower their center of gravity. As a loud crash sounds\, the lights turn red and the video projection disappears. The dancers’ heads uncontrollably tilt back\, bodies gradually descend to the ground and move behind a cube. \nWith the loud sound\, Hui-Ying runs forward but\, at the edge of the plastic sheet\, her head is again pulled backward uncontrollably\, repeating the motion until her body nears the floor. \nA projection appears — Hui-Ying’s virtual avatar walks alone in an urban landscape. Their movements are synchronized.” \n— Audio description from “2047” by Koyang and his Joyful Companions \n在這次「碰碰！ \nThis workshop places a special emphasis on audio description for dance — not just as a way to convert visual elements into words\, but as a method for embodied awareness and sensory documentation. Through this\, fleeting movements can be described\, understood and shared. \nIn the book “A World Seen Without Eyes”\, it’s mentioned that the Contemporary Art Center of the Art Tower Mito in Japan hosts “Session!” every year\, a program for appreciating art with visually impaired participants. At first glance\, it may seem like a service for the visually impaired — but in reality\, it creates a community of encounter\, where people connect through describing artworks and find a shared frequency through dialogue. \nHence\, in Bump! Dancing in Encounter Workshop\, the word “Bump” carries multiple meanings:— Touch\,— The sound of a bump\,— Meeting others unexpectedly. We hope to build a space where visually impaired and sighted individuals meet through dance\, expanding bodily experiences beyond the visual and engaging in a fuller spectrum of perception. Through this sensory exploration\, participants may discover unique movement patterns and enhance their body awareness\, while also pushing the boundaries of their senses and forming new ways of perceiving. \nQuanta Arts Foundation is dedicated to the development of theater arts in Taiwan. Through encouraging and promoting creative works\, integrating technology with performing arts\, fostering cross-strait cultural exchanges\, and talent development\, the foundation robustly supports performing arts groups. A successful and acclaimed performance requires the collaborative efforts of production\, technical and marketing teams. Art Thinking Workshop aims to cultivate dedicated and independent “theater talents”\, building a dynamic talent database and creating a sustainable performing arts environment. \nPreviously\, the workshop has offered lectures and courses on theater and digital marketing. This time\, we focus on a crucial skill for every cultural worker—community management. \nFrom team branding to individual actors\, from promoting works to backstage designers\, modern creators can no longer detach from the stage of social media platforms. However\, with rapidly changing platform rules and elusive algorithms\, we often find ourselves questioning: “Is this the right way to post? Why did this particular post gain more views?” \nThis course aims to help you move beyond intuition-based management\, starting from practical and logical perspectives to establish a systematic approach to community operations. The content covers community management and strategic thinking\, AI tool applications and content planning\, social media marketing and digital advertising strategies in the cultural industry\, and hands-on experience with short-form videos for cultural communities. Through four intensive sessions\, you’ll grasp the key aspects of community management. \nWe have invited three professional instructors with practical and teaching experience to guide you through comprehensive community management. Feng Chen-Chih 2025 Oil Painting Exhibition
\n《Rewind – the way I was》不是單純的懷舊，而是一種溫柔而深刻的回望。 \nThe 2025 Oil Painting Exhibition by Associate Professor Feng Chen-Chih\, titled “Rewind – the way I was”\, will be held from June 2 to July 18 at Gallery (3rd floor\, Design Building\, Taoyuan Campus). Faculty\, staff and students are welcome to visit and enjoy the exhibition free of charge. \n“Rewind” refers to the act of rewinding\, as if time is slowly turning backward—glimpsing past fragments\, familiar people and objects\, and those emotionally resonant moments. Focusing on portraits and still life\, this exhibition uses the rich texture and layered colors of oil paint to recall images blurred by time\, offering a way to revisit past experiences and reflect on the connections between self and existence. \nThe figures in the paintings represent companions along the artist’s life journey\, while the still life objects symbolize the traces of time—vessels of memory and emotion. Through these visuals\, the artist invites viewers into an inner dialogue:Who were we? What do we remember? How have we become who we are today? \n“Rewind – the way I was” is not merely an exercise in nostalgia; it is a gentle and profound reflection. Between the ordinary and the fleeting\, Feng Chen-Chih uses painting as a language to document\, reflect\, and reconstruct the trajectory of life\, inviting viewers to return to their own “former selves”. \nProfessor Feng Chen-Chih\, born in 1967 in Taipei\, is an Associate Professor in Department of Commercial Design at MCU. Dedicated to painting and design education\, he has held 25 solo exhibitions and participated in 45 group shows. He has published five personal art books\, and his works are held in both public and private collections in Taiwan and abroad.

Video Games and Spirit of the Times——BOOM．磅 系列講座 Lecture Series
\nVideo games have long been considered one of the last untainted domains free from political interference—a vast creative space where imagination and superpowers can run wild\, detached from the burdens of reality. But just how far is this belief in a clear divide between “games and politics” from the truth? \nLike literature\, film\, theater\, music\, and visual arts\, video games do not exist in a vacuum. They are far from neutral or unbiased. In fact\, video games often reflect the values—or biases—of their creators or funding companies. From development and production\, to the choices made in storytelling and gameplay\, and even to post-release marketing and community engagement\, the influence of real-world politics can be seen at every stage. \nWhat kinds of political messages are embedded in game narratives? Which ideologies are games advertising or endorsing? Is the relationship between game designers and investors truly equal? Are developers working under exploitative or high-pressure environments? Are governments or corporations using games as tools for political propaganda? Should games be allowed to manipulate player psychology to generate profit? Are game consoles being produced in sustainable and ethical ways? These questions are not mere speculation—they are critical and often overlooked issues. Together\, they reveal how games can reflect the zeitgeist of the era in which their players live. \nAs the video game industry now surpasses the combined value of the film\, music\, and publishing industries\, the political implications of video games have become the elephant in the room—impossible to ignore and worthy of serious examination. This lecture invites Huang Zhe-Han\, a passionate gamer and co-host of the podcast Corner Console\, who has long focused on gaming communities and culture. He will share insights on how video games\, beyond their entertainment value\, offer a compelling lens through which to observe the spirit of our times. \n__________________ \n〚講座資訊 Lecture Information〛 \n時間 Date & Time｜06/28（六 Sat）14:30~16:30 \n講者 Speaker｜黃哲翰 （轉角遊樂器共同主持人） \n地點 Venue｜現流冊店 hiān-lâu tsheh-tiàm（台北市大同區重慶北路二段70巷15號1樓 1/F\, No. 15\, Ln. 70\, Sec. 2\, Chongqing N. SUMMARY:筆觸進化論 The Evolution of Brushstrokes──書法的未來 Ink Beyond Ink
If ink and paper no longer exist\, can calligraphy still survive? \nCalligraphy\, one of the most aesthetically profound forms of writing in Eastern culture\, has flourished for centuries through the medium of ink and paper. But today\, it faces wave after wave of media transformation. In an era of rapidly evolving digital creation\, how should we interpret the concept of the “brushstroke”? Without a physical brush or rice paper\, can techniques\, rhythm and expressive energy still be preserved? \nThis talk invites Boyu Chien\, a creator bridging calligraphic art and brand design\, to share his years of experience in the field of digital calligraphy. He will explore the development logic behind digital brushes\, the technical algorithms grounded in traditional brush techniques\, and the strikingly expressive strokes made possible by tools beyond the limits of real brushes. \nThe session will also showcase how digital brushes have been applied to art projects and brand design\, using collaborative case studies with design firms to demonstrate how the structure and rhythm of calligraphy can be reimagined into a digital medium — creating writing experiences that remain authentic and tangible. \nIn this age where paper coexists with pixels\, and culture engages technology\, calligraphy is more than a preserved heritage — it is being reborn. \nIf you love calligraphy\, if you’re curious about where it’s headed next\,if you believe the future of calligraphy is freer than we think —join us for an evening of dialogue and exploration. \nBoyu Chien is a multidisciplinary creator whose practice spans fine art\, graphic design and interior design.
