Fortune Snakes in Home Village
\nAs the Spring Festival approaches\, Home Village celebrates the Year of the Snake with creativity and fun. This year’s event\, “Fortune Snakes in Home Village”\, centers around the collection of Snake Year greeting cards. Illustrator Nic has designed three limited-edition greeting cards\, exclusive envelopes and auspicious phrase stamps\, blending the lively essence of traditional Spring Festival culture with the everyday charm of village life. \nThe event runs from January 2 to February 23\, 2025\, inviting participants to immerse themselves in the festive atmosphere and cultural warmth of Home Village through the joy of collecting. \nEach of the three greeting card designs showcases unique features\, illustrating the dynamic motion of a snake winding through vibrant Spring Festival scenes within Home Village. These scenes\, like pieces of a puzzle\, come together as participants collect more cards\, creating a complete blessing picture for the Year of the Snake. Paired with exclusive Home Village embossed envelopes\, the designs also incorporate elements of the village\, offering glimpses into its everyday life and festive vitality. \nAdding to the excitement\, the event features Snake Year-themed auspicious phrase stamps. With a creative design that showcases a snake weaving harmoniously through the text\, the stamps bring each phrase vividly to life. Participants are encouraged to add their personal touch to the greeting cards by stamping their favorite designs. \n“Fortune Snakes in Home Village” offers a delightful opportunity to collect all three greeting cards during the event. Each card\, inspired by the history of Home Village and enriched by the illustrator’s unique artistic style\, connects people to the creative and cultural essence of the village during the Spring Festival. Tuesdays to Sundays 11:00～18:00 (aligned with the park’s operating hours) \n【春節休園 Spring Festival Closure】1月28日（二）至2月2日（日） January 28 (Tuesday) – February 2 (Sunday) \n【兌換方式 How to Redeem Greeting Cards】 \n\n追蹤嘉禾新村FB及IG粉絲專頁（已追蹤者請於Google地標留言評論）。 \n\n\nFollow Home Village’s Facebook and Instagram pages (existing followers\, please leave a review on Google Maps).\nTake a photo at the event photo wall and post it as a comment under the designated event post to receive a randomly selected greeting card (designs cannot be chosen).\n\n【注意事項 Notes】 \n\n每人每日限兌換一次\n賀卡數量有限，兌完為止\n嘉禾新村得以保留修改取消變更本活動的權利，並直接於官方社群媒體公告，亦有權對本活動的所有事宜做出解釋或裁決。\n\n\nLimited to one redemption per person per day.\nGreeting card quantities are limited and will only be available while supplies last.\nHome Village reserves the right to modify\, cancel or adjust the event and will announce changes via official social media platforms. Ceramic Art by Catherine Kao
\nCeramic art is a perfect combination of culture\, art\, and science. With the extraordinary plasticity of clay\, the artist imitates the texture of leather through realistic techniques and her control over the quality of the clay. Her work reflects fashion in contemporary life\, adds to the diverse expressions of ceramic art\, and embodies the concept of “life as art”. \nLeather products actually are not eco-friendly\, because they are non-recyclable. By imitating used or discarded leather products\, the artist reminds viewers to ponder solutions to our overdraft of Earth’s resources. By way of “subtractive living”\, the artist encourages us to reflect on our own materialistic desires and choose a lifestyle that liberates the environment and our spirits. As archaeological objects and sentiments from humanity’s long history with ceramic fragments\, the artist documents human life in the present with ceramics to serve as witness to our time on this Earth.

He specializes in themes of life\, death and vitality. \nNotable achievements include: \n\n2013 Sony World Photography Awards (1st Prize\, Nature & Wildlife category) – the first Asian recipient.\nOther accolades such as the Akiyama Shotaro Memorial Award\, Nikkor Club Award and Epson Taiwan Prestige Award.\nHis exhibitions span prestigious venues like Jazz Photography Gallery\, CMP BLOCK and Hsinchu City Art Museum.\n\nKondo’s works have also appeared in public art installations\, including collaborations with interactive artist Hsin-Chien Huang at MRT Trade Center Station in Taipei and thematic projects for Hsinchu’s Neiwan Line Art Museum. \nA project spanning two years\, Gift captures portraits of over 200 elderly individuals from diverse ethnic backgrounds across Taiwan. Kondo reflects on the wisdom\, innocence\, and life stories etched into their faces\, emphasizing how each expression\, wrinkle\, and feature resonates as a unique narrative and a divine “gift” of life. \nInspired by Kondo’s childhood summer visits to a coastal inn in southern Kyushu\, Memory explores the contrast between day and night at the sea. It captures the fear\, allure\, and hypnotic rhythm of the waves\, encapsulating the mysterious beauty and overwhelming power of nature.
