Miro and the Experiment of Fine Art Prints in ‘Depth’
\nThe 20th century marked a period of rapid growth for Fine Art Prints in the Western world. Various media and techniques attracted numerous esteemed artists to engage in creative pursuits\, with Joan Miró (1893-1983) standing out as one of the most prominent figures. Throughout his career\, Miró produced over 2000 works of fine art prints. His works primarily utilized intaglio\, lithography\, and carborundum\, with the latter being considered the pinnacle of Miró’s fine art print oeuvre. Employing carborundum\, a silicon carbide compound\, Miró could create on print paper surfaces a relief-like depth and texture resembling velvet\, soft and smooth. Miró began experimenting with carborundum in the 1960s and became deeply fascinated by the unique effects it produced. \nThis spring\, Gallery de sol will showcase Miró’s captivating fine art prints\, delving into his carborundum technique. At the same time\, the exhibition will feature the only carborundum artwork in the career of the Asian art master ZAO Wou-Ki\, as well as innovative works exploring “depth” by three generations of important Taiwanese fine art print artists: LIAO Shiou-Ping\, LIU Zi-Ming\, and YANG Chung-Ming. Starting from the materiality of their mediums\, fine art print artists of the 20th and 21st centuries\, driven by the shifts in their historical period and surroundings\, have brought forth astonishing results through their individual talents and contemplations. Today\, we are fortunate to observe their works assembled together\, revealing the boundless world within the narrow gate of fine art printmaking. No. 166\, Dunhua N. Actual patterns may vary on-site. 演變到現在則成日本女學生的象徵，二尺袖除了是大學畢業時的定番裝扮，在成年式也可以常常看見有人著用喔.ᐟ \nThe “two shaku sleeves\,” also known as “ko-furisode\,” have sleeves that are two shaku (approximately 60 centimeters) long. They are typically worn with women’s harem pants. Because the sleeves are relatively short\, they allow for easier movement and can be worn in informal settings as well. During the Meiji to Taisho periods\, Japan saw a Westernization trend and an increase in the education of women. In contrast to the traditional formal kneeling posture\, Western-style classrooms adopted a sitting posture for teaching. The sitting posture made it easier for belts and skirts to become disheveled due to friction with the chair or posture\, leading to the introduction of women’s harem pants. Over time\, they became a symbol of Japanese female students and are commonly seen as attire for university graduation ceremonies and coming-of-age ceremonies. Limited to 15 sets of experiences per day / Patterns chosen on-site\n＊只接受預約/不開放現場 Reservations only / Not available on-site \n \n圖片僅示意，實際花紋以現場為主。 Image for illustration purposes only. Performance at Dadaocheng
\nThis performance will feature a vocalist accompanied by a trio of guitar\, double bass\, and accordion\, presenting enka culture from Japan’s Showa era and popular early Dadaocheng songs. We have invited renowned pop musicians Chen Hong-zhu\, Tan Qi-xu\, Wang Qun-ting and Cai Wei-jing to reinterpret the songs recorded and covered by “The accordion music of Taipei Light Music Band”\, a band formed from the Japanese occupation period to the early Republic era. This group\, active at harvest festivals across Taiwan during the rice industry boom\, brought songs that resonated deeply with Taiwanese people educated in Japanese from 1895 to 1945—particularly those aged 78 and above. \nFor the elderly\, these early Japanese ballads represent “freedom”\, and singing them\, especially in groups\, brings shared joy. Dadaocheng was chosen for this performance because of its historical significance as an economic\, artistic\, cultural and educational hub with strong ties to Japan. Beyond singing\, the Taiwanese learned to play various instruments\, and this event aims to recreate that cultural era with a new performance style. \nWe hope this event will immerse Taiwanese people and society in the everyday life of Taiwan during the Showa period. By listening to musical performances\, observing expressions and movements\, and hearing the dialogues between different instruments played by Taiwanese and Japanese musicians\, attendees will gain a deeper understanding of the Showa-era ballad culture and the emotions of the elderly from that time. The goal is to evoke emotions and seek resonance. \n活動聯繫人 Contact Point\n吳佩珊 Ms Wu 0905412283 \n報名 To apply：https://www.accupass.com/eflow/ticket/2404230651331753964100?utm_campaign=accu_feature&utm_medium=home_north&utm_source=Web

French Audiovisual Art Performance
\nThis event features French sound artist Franck Vigroux and visual artist Antoine Schmitt\, who will deliver a performance that fuses minimalistic techniques with intense rhythms\, evolving into roaring noise. This is paired with sophisticated black and white grid lines\, vanishing points\, and cube visual effects to create a breathtaking audiovisual feast. \nThe performance revolves around sequences of high and higher pitches and deep bass\, forming a unique sound structure. This intricate and captivating arrangement of tones contrasts sharply with Schmitt’s visual projections. In the intense musical intervals\, the audience will experience a dreamlike noise atmosphere\, with visuals transforming these moments into rotating white squares and particles seemingly rushing towards the audience. \nThis performance offers an immersive experience\, blurring the boundaries between digital and physical\, sound and light. It pushes the limits of sensory perception and is an event not to be missed. \nA versatile artist whose work spans experimental electronic music\, modern composition\, and musical theater.
