Want to learn more and learn? Join our Open House! Open house is designed for non-Toastmasters and includes more introductions and public speaking skills demonstration. We also have practical workshops led by award winning speakers. You can also practice English and make friends from the interactive session and the improtu speaking session. 什麼是Toastmasters？ What is Toastmasters?

Toastmasters是全球最大的非營利學習組織，已有百年歷史，在雙北就有50多個分會。
會員透過每兩週一次的例會學習英語演講、主持、講評與即席發言，也常有出遊交流。會員們來自各行各業，通過演講分享專業與人生經驗。
這次Open House由多個分會聯合舉辦，特別為非會員設計，邀請大家一起認識Toastmasters、共同成長！

Toastmasters, the world’s largest non-profit for communication and leadership, has 50+ clubs in Taipei and New Taipei.
Through speeches, hosting, and evaluations, members learn and connect.

1.    Toastmasters與語言交換的差別？
語言交換多是一次性的Small Talk；Toastmasters提供完整學習系統與長期環境，重點在主持、演講、即興，也更能建立長期的友誼。

2.    什麼是演講講評（Evaluation）？
每次演講後，都有會員給3分鐘回饋，注重具體、可行的建議，激勵演講者持續進步。

3.    英文不好或怕上台能參加嗎？
當然！可依自己步調學習，會友也會給予鼓勵。許多母語人士與英文教育人員也持續在此精進。

4.    不確定時間或地點合不合？
雙北有50+分會，地區與時間多元，本次活動更是多分會聯合舉辦，現場可以直接認識他們。

5.    Open House與一般例會的不同？
例會有固定格式，主要給會員參加；Open House專為非會員設計，背景介紹更多、互動與英文練習機會更豐富。

1. What’s the difference between Toastmasters and language exchange?
Language exchanges are often one-time small talks, while Toastmasters provides a complete learning system and a long-term environment. It focuses on hosting, public speaking, and impromptu speeches, helping participants build lasting friendships.

2. What is a speech evaluation?
After each speech, members give a 3-minute evaluation focused on specific, actionable feedback to encourage continuous improvement.

3. Can I join if my English isn’t good or if I’m nervous about speaking on stage?
Absolutely! You can learn at your own pace, and members will always offer support and encouragement. Many native speakers and English educators also continue to sharpen their skills here.

4. What if I’m unsure about the time or location?
There are over 50 Toastmasters clubs across Taipei and New Taipei City, offering diverse schedules and locations. This event is a joint Open House hosted by multiple clubs—you’ll have a chance to meet them in person.

5. What’s the difference between an Open House and a regular club meeting?
Regular meetings follow a fixed format and are mainly for members, while Open Houses are designed for guests. They include more background introductions, interactive sessions, and English-speaking opportunities.
