跟著藝文服務生去旅行精華篇 Travel with the Art Servant — Highlights Edition

為了充實的教學案例，藝文服務生自2022年起實地走訪了澳洲、荷蘭、法國、英國各地，參訪各地美術館、畫廊與相關藝文場域，如從倫敦Tate Modern、墨爾本NGV到阿姆斯特丹梵谷博物館，藝術家涵蓋當代藝術草間彌生、奈良美智和David Hockney等，如果只納入《2025藝文寫作班》專業教學內容就太可惜了，所以特別舉辦《藝術小聚》精華篇，用更輕鬆詼諧的口吻，以及搭配各地好吃好玩的景點，帶領大家來一場沉浸式文化藝遊，一起培養觀展力！
Since 2022, the Art Servant team has traveled across Australia, the Netherlands, France, and the United Kingdom to gather first-hand case studies for teaching and cultural observation. From London’s Tate Modern and Melbourne’s NGV, to Amsterdam’s Van Gogh Museum, their visits have covered world-class artists such as Yayoi Kusama, Yoshitomo Nara, and David Hockney.
Instead of keeping all this inspiring content exclusive to 2025 Art Writing Workshop, this special session — “Art Gathering: Highlights Edition” — opens the experience to everyone! Through an engaging and humorous narrative, paired with travel tips on local attractions and culinary gems, participants will embark on an immersive cultural journey and develop their art-viewing literacy!

單元1 打開庫房，新世代的博物館參觀體驗
高雄的內惟藝術中心是台灣少數公開典藏修復空間的機構，結合保存、修護、教育推廣與人才培訓，讓市民真正「看見」典藏。當博物館「後台前台化」成為主流，觀眾得以窺見博物館幕後日常，如今年五月才開幕的V&A East Storehouse立即成為倫敦朝聖的新熱點，但你知道嗎？事實上全球第一個打開庫房的是鹿特丹的Depot Boijmans Van Beuningen。當藏品不再深鎖成為趨勢，你準備好加入這場新型態的觀展潮流了嗎？

Session 1 — Opening the Storage Room: The New Museum Experience
The Neiwei Arts Center in Kaohsiung is one of Taiwan’s few institutions that publicly opens its conservation and restoration spaces, integrating preservation, education, and professional training. As “front-stage access to the back-of-house” becomes the new museum trend, institutions like London’s V&A East Storehouse have become must-visit sites for art lovers. Yet, the world’s first open-storage museum was actually Depot Boijmans Van Beuningen in Rotterdam.
As collections move from secrecy to transparency, are you ready to join this new wave of museum engagement?

Session 2 — Immersive Experiences: The Past, Present, and Future of Digital Art Exhibitions
Remember the frenzy of teamLab: Dance! Art Exhibition and Learn & Play! Future Park in 2016 at Huashan? Since then, teamLab has held three major exhibitions in Taiwan. In Japan, teamLab Borderless recently opened in Azabudai Hills, Tokyo, and teamLab Biovortex Kyoto is set to launch this year.
While the rest of the world shifts toward permanent immersive spaces, Taiwan still focuses on temporary exhibitions. Are these digital art experiences the future norm, or merely a fleeting trend? Join us to explore the evolution and direction of immersive art!

單元3 主流必訪，當代藝術家的大型回顧展
近年來國際火紅的當代藝術家終於接踵而至，如草間彌生、奈良美智、Olafur Eliasson、Louise Bourgeois、Anthony McCall，觀眾看展的選擇確實豐富多了，但你知道藝術家個展也有類型的差別嗎？相較於國外美術館動則三至五年策劃單一藝術家的大型回顧展，臺灣仍鮮少有資源支持去完整梳理藝術家的創作脈絡。無論是針對在地藝術家或國際藝術家，無論是學術研究還是資金結構，臺灣都還有努力空間，讓我們來師法全球案例！

Session 3 — Must-See Master Retrospectives of Contemporary Art
Recent years have seen major solo retrospectives for global contemporary art icons like Yayoi Kusama, Yoshitomo Nara, Olafur Eliasson, Louise Bourgeois, and Anthony McCall. Yet, did you know there are different types of solo exhibitions?
While international museums often spend 3–5 years curating large-scale retrospectives that map an artist’s full creative evolution, Taiwan still faces limitations in both resources and institutional support for such comprehensive presentations. Let’s take inspiration from global examples and imagine what’s possible here!

單元4 從私人到地方，想像一座美術館的可能性
2024年臺北富邦美術館與臺南奇美博物館的特展話題讓臺灣私人美術館一夕爆紅；近年來地方美術館也如雨後春筍成立，最新的案例就是臺中市立美術館即將試營運。臺灣地方美術館常常因為是政策導向而硬體先行，避免各地美術館成為複製貼上的城市模板，不妨參考世界各地不同定位的範例，從在地文化到國際連結，美術館的可能性遠比想像寬廣！

Session 4 — From Private to Local: Rethinking the Possibilities of Museums
In 2024, major exhibitions at Fubon Art Museum in Taipei and Chimei Museum in Tainan thrust Taiwan’s private museums into the spotlight. Meanwhile, municipal art museums are also on the rise, with Taichung City Art Museum set to open soon.
Yet, many local museums are policy-driven, with infrastructure preceding identity. To avoid turning them into cookie-cutter replicas, we can learn from diverse international models that connect local culture with global dialogue.

Art catalogs are often treasured by true enthusiasts. For this session, we’re bringing actual exhibition catalogs featured in our discussion right to the venue!
Participants can flip through and examine the visual design, curatorial concepts, and editorial craftsmanship of different institutions — a mini art book fair designed for discovery and inspiration.
About “Art Gathering”
The Art Gathering series hosts occasional small-scale talks where the Art Servant team shares real-world project experiences and exhibition insights. Through pre-event questionnaires, each session focuses on audience interests in the art and culture field, encouraging in-depth exchange and professional dialogue.
