Visit National Human Rights Museum

To deepen students’ understanding of Taiwan’s human rights history, Taipei Campus Law Aid Club will organize an off-campus visit to National Human Rights Museum on Thursday, October 23, from 14:00 to 16:30. The event invites students and faculty to revisit the historical site, experience the atmosphere of the authoritarian era, and reflect on the long and difficult journey toward democratization. Combining guided tours with interactive activities, the visit encourages participants to explore the value of law and human rights through immersive storytelling.
A professional guide will lead the group through the museum, introducing key historical cases such as the Kaohsiung (Formosa) Incident and the Chiang Nan Case, sharing the stories of victims and explaining the military court system and the nation’s democratic transition. A special highlight of this visit is the “real-world puzzle-solving game”, where participants will take on the roles of magazine staff accused of political dissent. By collecting clues and uncovering hidden truths, students will experience firsthand the fragility and importance of freedom of speech and judicial justice.
The event is open to both members and non-members. Non-members are required to pay a NT$37 insurance fee. Participants should gather between 12:00 and 12:30 at Exit 1 of Jiantan MRT Station. The group is expected to return to the same location around 17:40. In case of oversubscription, club members will be given priority.
The Law Aid Club warmly invites all students to sign up and join this meaningful experience, encouraging reflection on the true meaning of freedom and human rights through direct engagement with history.
