The current exhibition at Lishan Art Space, “Illusions, Otherlands, Ark – Lin Bo-cheng Sculpture Solo Exhibition”, uses the concept of “museum” to transcend time and space, allowing objects from reality and fantasy, the past and the distant, to converge in the present. Artist Lin Bo-cheng’s work focuses on exploring human feelings and human nature, especially by breaking the wholeness of the human body and recombining parts or merging with foreign objects to create a “human-like” existence, which also implies a passive negation of human identity. Lin Bo-cheng considers from a sci-fi and otherworldly perspective, pondering what changes occur in the meaning and essence of being “human”, the differences between humans and tools or machines, and the relationship between humans and society when “humans” no longer hold their complete significance.

The exhibition specially invites emerging novelist Lin Xin-hui, who focuses on the ambiguous boundaries between humans and non-humans, to join artist Lin Bo-cheng in discussing changes in contemporary humans both psychologically and physically, from the perspectives of sci-fi, otherworldliness, human and human-like, and human-machine integration.
