戲春大稻埕 Spring Theatrical Art Festival in Dadaocheng|戲咖上身 Becoming an Opera Character─戲服變裝體驗 Taiwanese Opera Costume Experience

Is wearing a cheongsam or a traditional robe too ordinary? In Dadaocheng, known as a “cradle of traditional opera”, not trying on a Taiwanese opera costume would mean missing out on something truly special.
In Dadaocheng, vintage outfits are just the beginning—the essence of the neighborhood lies in its deep-rooted operatic culture. From daily entertainment in the past to religious ceremonies and festive performances, opera has always been an integral part of local life. This spring, “Spring Theatrical Art Festival in Dadaocheng” teams up with Hung Ming Taiwanese Opera Company to offer more than just watching a show—we invite you to be the star. You may not know your sheng (male role) from your dan (female role), but by simply dressing in opera costumes and learning a few signature movements from professional Taiwanese opera performers, you can enjoy the thrill of being on stage, whether you’re playing a heroic youth or a delicate maiden.
