🧵 What Did People Wear in Taiwan Before? × Taiwan Clothing 🧵
Do you know what Taiwanese people used to wear?
Since the 17th century, various cultures and ethnic groups have taken root and thrived in Taiwan. Each changing era and government brought with it a new wave of clothing styles.
Taiwan Clothing will guide you through 300 years of Taiwan’s fashion evolution — revealing that our grandparents, too, were stylish in their own way!
From vibrant hybrid styles to bold new trends, diversity has always been at the heart of Taiwanese fashion.

🧵 Chin Me Dadaocheng × Women’s Craftsmanship in Dadaocheng 🧵
In the 1960s, Taiwan’s policy of establishing export processing zones spurred rapid growth in the garment and textile industries. Embroidery, as a decorative craft for clothing and accessories, evolved from traditional handwork into semi-automatic and fully mechanized production.
Chin Me Dadaocheng is a revitalized heritage building that once operated as an embroidery workshop, keeping pace with Taiwan’s booming textile era.
Here, you’ll uncover the history of embroidery production and witness how women’s craftsmanship helped shape Dadaocheng’s cultural identity.
