《上山》陳慧如創作個展 “Going Up the Mountain” – Joie Chen Solo Exhibition

人說：「看山是山，看山不是山，看山還是山」；在我的抽象繪畫裡：「不看山卻得著山」。因在我的信仰裡：「我們原不是顧念所見的，乃是顧念所不見的；因所見的是暫時的，所不見的才是永遠的。」 我渴慕上山，去到神所在地方，與神對話而非與人對話。

People often say: “Seeing the mountain as a mountain, seeing the mountain as no longer a mountain, and seeing the mountain as a mountain again.”
In my abstract paintings, however, it is “not looking at the mountain, yet finding the mountain.”

This reflects my faith:
“We do not fix our eyes on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.”

I long to go up the mountain—to the place where God dwells, to converse with Him rather than with people.
