Diotima是全球最受矚目的法國弦樂四重奏團之一，曾獲巴黎FNAPEC大賽首獎及倫敦弦樂四重奏大賽當代作品演奏首獎。以演奏20世紀和當代音樂聞名，同時也精通古典與浪漫時期的作品。演奏風格兼具精確技術和對音樂紋理深度的詮釋，擅於在傳統和現代音樂的語言中找到共鳴，呈現出不同時期之間的對話與連接。代表性錄製作品包含巴爾托克弦樂四重奏全集、布列茲四重奏之書等，展示了他們對20世紀四重奏音樂的深刻理解。

演出足跡遍佈全球的他們，將在今年5月來台，演出英國作曲家布列頓早期的室內樂作品《D大調第1號弦樂四重奏》，此樂曲結構清晰，以緩慢而神秘旋律作為開場，在平靜氛圍與複雜節奏的驅動感中取得平衡。此外，Diotima更將首次在亞洲演出德奧作曲家布魯克納《c小調弦樂四重奏》WAB 111，此作展示了布魯克納在不同音樂體裁中的潛力，同其遵循傳統古典樂曲結構，呈現對古典形式的理解。下半場將演奏印象派作曲家拉威爾僅此一作的弦四作品《F大調弦樂四重奏》，作品色彩變化多端，時而神祕、時而張狂。旋律被和聲裝點，如同繁花盛開般迷人而華麗，呈現出一種繽紛的光彩和獨特的美感。

Diotima Quartet, one of the world’s most renowned French string quartets, has earned accolades including the First Prize at the Paris FNAPEC Competition and the Contemporary Music Award at the London String Quartet Competition. Celebrated for their interpretations of 20th-century and contemporary music, they also excel in classical and romantic repertoire. Known for their precise technique and profound understanding of musical textures, they seamlessly connect traditional and modern musical languages, creating a dialogue that transcends time. Their recordings, including the complete Bartók String Quartets and Boulez’s Livre pour Quatuor, showcase their deep engagement with 20th-century quartet music.

Performing globally, Diotima will visit Taiwan this May to present a program featuring British composer Benjamin Britten’s early chamber work, String Quartet No. 1 in D Major. This piece begins with a slow and mysterious melody, achieving a balance between tranquil atmospheres and dynamic rhythmic drive. Additionally, they will perform the Asian premiere of Austrian-German composer Anton Bruckner’s String Quartet in c minor, WAB 111. This work reveals Bruckner’s potential in chamber music, adhering to classical structures while showcasing his understanding of traditional forms.

In the second half, the program highlights Maurice Ravel’s String Quartet in F Major, the only quartet composed by the impressionist master. This piece offers a kaleidoscope of color and mood, alternating between mystery and intensity. Ornamented melodies intertwine with rich harmonies, blooming like a field of flowers—captivating, radiant, and uniquely beautiful.

As a titan of contemporary chamber music, Diotima Quartet has consistently won over classical music lovers in Taiwan with their exceptional artistry and intricate interpretations. This time, they will present a distinctive approach to works from different musical eras, challenging expectations and exploring new musical territories. Through a fusion of classical and modern masterpieces, they promise an unforgettable cross-generational musical dialogue and exploration.
