Graduation Production: “Daydream Project” Concert
Department of Radio & TV’s Class of 2024 will present their graduation production, the “Daydream Project” concert, on Saturday, November 16, at 18:00 at Taipei Music Center LIVE HOUSE D. Organized by a multinational team of eleven seniors from Taiwan, Hong Kong and Malaysia, the students have managed every aspect of the event independently, showcasing their four years of hard work through this concert.
The theme, “Daydream Project”, represents a journey of envisioning the future—a path that includes striving for goals, fulfilling dreams, challenging oneself and seeking meaningful self-affirmation within society. While others might see it as an unattainable “daydream”, this is the code the new generation lives by: staying unbound by conventional expectations, constantly innovating and creating, and transforming every dream-world image into reality.
The concert’s program is structured into four chapters, symbolizing precious treasures unearthed through a quest. Each chapter captures a different stage of growth and transformation over their college years. The performance will feature twelve songs, including eight original compositions by the students. The first chapter, “Prelude” reflects the state of innocent courage and vulnerability in their freshman year. The second chapter, “Quest” portrays the excitement of exploration, the triumph of overcoming obstacles, and the unease of losing direction. The third chapter, “Chaos” explores different perspectives and the struggle to find clarity amid the fog. The final chapter, “Rebirth” symbolizes the metamorphosis, emerging transformed and renewed.
Students from Department of Radio & TV have taken full responsibility for every aspect of the concert—from planning, promotion and ticketing to the performance itself. All tickets are sold out. Lead organizer and senior student, Chen Yanru, shared that choosing a concert as their graduation project started as an experimental decision but quickly attracted many participants. The greatest challenge in organizing the event was building teamwork, with members growing from strangers to a close-knit group. This experience of understanding and supporting each other with dedication and passion left a profound impact on everyone involved. They are eager to bring their “Daydream Project” to life and hear the applause that will make all their efforts worthwhile on concert night.
