免出國就能體驗正統英式下午茶 銘傳應英系舉辦英美文化營 Experience Authentic English Afternoon Tea Without Leaving the Country – Department of Applied English Hosts British and American Culture Camp

今年暑假不用出國也能體驗到英美文化,而且還是免費?!為發揮USR大學社會責任,連結高中職落實共學共好目標,銘傳大學應用英語學系舉辦「英美文化全英體驗營」,結合情境教室安排有趣的主題式人文素養課程,體驗異國文化,7/15、7/16有四個梯次,歡迎全國高中職2-3年級學生免費報名參加,名額有限每梯次24人,額滿為止,立即報名https://forms.gle/LmpJhQJNN7fx4ZaA8。
此次體驗營,規劃以主題情境式學習方式,讓學員深入瞭解銘傳應英系特色與英美文化主題,將安排在銘傳大學「美國文化情境教室」探索美國流行文化,以及在「英國茶文化情境教室」學習英國茶文化歷史與禮儀,讓學員偽出國體驗正統英式下午茶。由銘傳大學應用英語學系安排中外籍教師指導授課,並有以英語為母語的國際學生、銘傳應英系學生分別擔任情境教室的外籍助教、體驗活動的中籍助教,協助教師授課及引導學員。
銘傳應英系王兆璋主任表示,銘傳大學積極拓廣學生國際視野及創新卓越教學,應英系課程強調教學理論與務實並重,此次活動特別著重在「全英語互動式課程」讓學員沉浸於全英語的環境,學習英語課程、體驗英美文化,培養跨文化素養;同時將為高中職生帶來「外語學群介紹與探索活動」,藉此能深入瞭解銘傳應英系的特色與國際教育特色活動。

Experience British and American Culture Without Leaving the Country This Summer – For Free!
In line with our University Social Responsibility (USR) initiative to foster collaborative learning between universities and high schools, Department of Applied English at MCU is hosting the “British and American Culture Immersion Camp”. This camp features engaging, themed humanities courses set in immersive classrooms, offering a taste of foreign culture. The camp will take place on July 15 and 16 with four sessions available. This immersive experience is designed to provide participants with a deeper understanding of the unique aspects of the Department of Applied English and various British and American cultural themes. Activities will take place in our “American Culture Room”, where students will explore American pop culture, and the “British Tea Culture Room”, where they will learn about the history and etiquette of British tea culture, experiencing a traditional English afternoon tea. Courses will be taught by a mix of local and foreign teachers, with international students and Applied English majors from MCU serving as teaching assistants to guide and support participants.
Department Chair Wang Chao-chang emphasizes MCU’s commitment to broadening students’ international perspectives and enhancing teaching excellence. The Applied English curriculum focuses equally on theoretical and practical aspects of language learning. This camp is designed to immerse students in an all-English environment, promoting English language skills and cross-cultural understanding. Additionally, the camp includes an “Introduction and Exploration of Foreign Language Study Groups” to provide high school students with insights into the distinctive features of the Department of Applied English and its international education programs.
The British and American Culture Immersion Camp will be held on July 15 and 16, with sessions from 09:00 to 12:10 and 13:00 to 16:10 each day, totaling four sessions. Each session accommodates only 24 participants, and the camp is completely free of charge.
